Hello all,

I married my US citizen partner in Oct 2013 and we applied for my GC. We got an RFE in Dec 2013, responded to it by Feb 2014 and right now, the application status says "RFE Response in Review"

I'm also waiting for EAD and Travel Permit approvals.

My question is, are there any Same Sex couples on this Forum, that have filed for GC for their spouse and if so, can you provide any insight into the timeline it has taken for you application to be approved?

I'm just wondering if USCIS is taking significantly longer to process Same Sex couple petitions as opposed to others.

Thank you all!

Hi, I am a same-sex marriage spouse too and I filed last January. My PD and NOA1 is Jan, 6, 2014.

It is too soon for me to have news from USCIS (it´s been just two months), but I hope they do not take much longer to process same-sex couples files....

What was your RFE for?

Hi,

My RFE was for additional financial support proof.

Coincidentally, we just got some good news today!

We initially filed for i-485, EAD and Work Permit, in Nov 2013.

Dec 2013 we for RFE request

Responded to RFE in Feb 2014

Received approval for EAD and Work permit today

Interview date set for April 9, 2014!!

Hang in there!! I don't think they process same sex petitions any differently.

If you took two months to respond to the RFE than the whole case was paused for 2 months. Oct-Dec is 2 months. Feb to now makes three months, so things are going on a normal timeline. Jan and Feb was paused waiting for RFE response.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!
