Green Card for Parents

Does anyone know if my parents after their interview will get 2 year Green Cards or 10 year Green Card as surely they do not have to prove again in 2 years I am their son!

Hi Somerset boy (lived there for 1 year when I was younger!)

If they got their GC through you, a USC son, they will get a 10 year GC. Are they actually scheduled for an interview? my information was that parents of USC would not need an interview. In our family we did this process and our mother did not have an interview...but we did an AOS so I don't know if that is why she didn't have an interview.

We have friends in Baltimore!

My parents are here in the USA & applying AOS as well?

They have their 1 year Green Cards in the mail as I filed in Dec 2013.

Is that how you did it? With your parents here & they had no interview then issued a 10 year Green Card?

I was in Taunton for about a year.

here in MD, I actually live about 1 hour outside Balto...closer to DC. But I go to balto often. What part of Balto are your friends? county of City?

I don't know of a 1 year GC....just 2 year and 10 years. Yes our mother was in the US, we did a AOS (concurrent i130 and I-485 filing as well as the EAD) and she did not have an interview. She received 10yr GC in mail....the whole process took about 13 months. But it was just as DACA was starting and it definitely slowed things down, I believe.

My parents have their EAD & AP card today but DMV would not give them a driving license?

ok your friends are in the County- that's about 45mins-1hour from me. I'm closer to silver spring.

I don't know somerset that well and I barely remember taunton! but as the americans would say it sure was country!!

well, I know you're in VA but in MD you cant get a drivers license without a SSN. But you should able to use your EAD to apply for a SSN and then you can go back and get the DL. Hey if VA gives you a problem you can always move to beautiful MD!! Rileyville sounds like its wa, way out in real VA....not NoVA.

They are going to get their SSN today do you know how long that takes?

Crazy they give them an EAD but not the right to drive!! Not sure how they are meant to get to work!

Thankfully they do not need to go to work at this point.
