I think Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi had more than a passing hand in dividing this country, foisting unpopular policies on the country, ramping up the abuse of power in Congress. When the Democrats lose the Senate in November, it won't be the Tea Party that's to blame. Democrats will be looking closer to home than that.

The country is not divided between conservatives and liberals although that is what the Teaparty Bullies are selling you guys. The rift is between the fringes at the right, and the rest of the country. When the democrats lose the senate in November, the country will continue on its merry way forward and the same Teaparty Bullies will continue to cater to those who would rather bet against our country.

This Congress has not and will not back anything this President does. Period. Let's not pretend otherwise. This Congress will oppose even that which the majority party in the House once proudly called its policy proposals. They oppose the President for the sake of opposing him. That's how bad it is. They will gamble with the full faith and credit of this nation if that is what they think it takes to damage the President. That destroys credibility no matter who the President is. Which is to say it destroys the credibility of the office. And no Congress prior to this one has ever done that in times of crisis.

But you really want to know what pisses me off? Democrats don't have the cajones to do the same thing. Democrats are always the ones that are reaching across the aisle and making concessions. Republicans rarely budge on anything.

I don't think the Republicans will win the Senate. The only reason why they have the House is because of gerrymandering.

You know your party sucks if the only way you can win is by changing the voting rules and times people can vote, redistricting so you overrule democracy. They act like fascists.

And yet, it is all Pelosi's and Reid's fault. LOL...

When it comes to foreign policy in a crisis, Congress has a far better track record of supporting positive action, rightly or wrongly, than you give it credit for.

I think that disrespecting someone, regardless of political affiliation, is just distasteful. But, let's be clear. The right has said some pretty nasty stuff about the left as well. From Rush calling Ms. Fluke a #######, to Bill and Rush going after Obama's daughters. There's crazies on both sides of the aisle.

If fluke bought as much BC as she says she did she was very promiscuous.

Don't kid yourself that Republicans have the lock on gerrymandering. Democrats are just as adept and willing to do the same. Both sides are h3ll-bent on electioneering, at the expense of actually governing this country.

Congress historically, yes. But this Congress is absolutely worthless, out of control and seriously damaging this country. The last Congress was no better and I am not holding my breath for the next one either.

On domestic policy, I don't disagree.

Foreign policy is a different kettle of fish. Although the President is the figurehead of this country, and making him look bad might give certain GOP-ers the warm and fuzzies, most of them understand that foreign policy in a potential crisis situation does not play easily along party lines.

Positive action, in whatever form produces results, makes the USA look good. Few politicians are foolish enough to see themselves on the wrong side of history, although there will inevitably be some.

Congress has publicly second-guessed the President on all matters foreign and domestic. This Congress is not like what Congress used to be. They do not put the country first anymore.

This is America, not a communist or totalitarian regime. It's the job of Congress to question every presidential action and block whatever they believe is not in the best interest of their constituents.

good.gif I think that's called "checks and balances"....mind boggling how some forget the fundamentals of our gov. & - Exactly - Each are elected to represent their constituents best interests....not the entire country.

Having to explain something so basic and learned during youth = really dismantles credibility regarding objectivity = SMH @ the rhetoric thrown around (by some people who are fairly intelligent & should know better) to the point of foot to mouth face palm embarrassment.
