I-864 Income Qs

Hello,

I'm looking ahead in our CR-1 application to the I-864 and I have a few questions. I'm hoping someone can shed some light.

I'm the USC petitioner, and I'm self employed on a part time basis. My income (when converted from £ to $) falls below the poverty line on it's own. My wife (the beneficiary) is employed full time by a UK company. When we move back to the USA, she will continue to work for this company as a self-employed subcontractor, at her current rate. Her income alone exceeds the 125% of poverty line amount.

When I am filling out the I-864, will I be able to take her income into account? (We have been married for seven years, living together all but two months of it before I moved to England.)

If I'm not able to take her income into consideration, do I have the option of secondary income sponsors? I'm reading some how-tos that say London doesn't accept joint sponsorship, others that do.

You can use her assets to be included in your petition. You can also get a co sponsor.
