I had a near fatal illness and used up all of my sick time and even went on medical leave...so there was no way I could get any more time off, besides leaving early and going to the doctors every two weeks.

But he did fine by himself...he's good under pressure, and I'm not. I probably would have been in the way, if they would have interviewed me

I went by myself...

we really couldn't afford the pane ticket for him to fly up to Canada... would have been a waste of money anyways because the interview was a breeze... although it would have been nice to have him there for moral support...

just me (k1) and my 2 daughters (K2)... John's presence would have been great but it is not practical (imagine 3 applications and 3 medical fees)...saved the money for all other expenses that ensued: plane tickets for me and the girls, etc...

I was in town (Morocco) for the interview, but Casa does not even allow non-interviewees into the Consulate building, let alone the interview. It was nice to be there to get a first hand account right when it was done.

I wish I could go but no, it's too expensive.

Alex,

I don't know if you still have time, but we found good deals (around $500.00) leaving from NYC. I also found this website:

http://travel.ubid.com/vacation/south-america

Who knows? You can get lucky and score a pretty good deal...

Feel free to PM me if you want

I wasn't there. I probably would have gone only if there were strong indications that my being there would be a decisive factor in determining the outcome of the interview. I wouldn't have gone just for moral support, that's silly. I married a grownup.
