Yes, I already submitted them for that step, but I'm talking about the Packet 3 checklist item. Do you know anything about that?

Sorry I keep finding random questions, but I just have my main "status in US" question left and one about tax returns as support for my cosponsor's I-134. If they are a joint filer, would the joint person be required to approve the application? My cosponsor brings in the majority of the income.

I meant would the joint filer have to give the OK about the cosponsor's sponsoring of my fiancée since the tax return is joint? I think the answer is no, but I want to make sure.

I have never heard of the other person giving permission for someone to file as co-sponsor - there isn't any place on the forms, that I know of, for that, so yes, the answer is no.

Should be OK then.

For the status question, I think I found the answer somewhere else: birth certificate or passport to prove citizenship. Passport works for me.

It depends on what your Embassy requires. Some ask for three years, others do fine with just the current paystubs.

I haven't read that 3 is a requirement, but I've read elsewhere that it's recommended. If they don't specify then it should be fine, right?

The last two years for my cosponsor are well within range of being able to provide for my fiancee, but the 3rd is not as much. That is why I don't know if I should add it or not.

On Packet 4, actually, it says "photocopy of the most recent Federal income tax return" so I think having two will be good enough. I would appreciate input on this from anyone with experience.

Also, I have been reading that there is still an expectation to have Form DS-156 even though the DS-160 replaces it. I do not see this on any packet, but I want to be sure that it is absolutely not required.

It's been discontinued. The only form you need to do is the DS-160.

We just received authorization to continue the process and make an interview appointment. On these forms, they ask for the DS-156 and DS-156K for some reason. I think it's strange, but we are doing them to be safe.

Also, does anyone know if someone needs to provide financial documents to show that they are supporting my fiancee and will pay for her trip to the US, like her father maybe? My cosponsor and I will be supporting her here.
