Hi everyone, I'm new to this site. Here's my situation, I met a Filipina girl online, we chatted almost 2 years, fell in love, then we met in person, I stayed in the Philippines with her for 21 days, we got married while I was there and took a lot of pictures. I have been on SSI and welfare for 14 year, I have a social anxiety, its just heard for me to work around a lot of people. My wife is young, healthy, speaks good English and has a good education, she has worked in another country before for 6 years, and currently studding healthcare. I want to start the petition to get her here with me, we have a co sponsor who is my cousin and she's willing to co sponsor my wife, my cousin has been a nurse for 20 years and makes $50,000. a year and there is only my cousin and her husband in her household and her husband has a good job also, my wife plans to get a job when she gets to the US and not rely on government benefits, I'm going to try to get a part time job if I can handle with my anxiety. Does anyone have any idea what my wife's chances are for passing the US Embassy interview for a US visa. Just because I'm on SSI for my disability doesn't mean my wife will get on SSI or any other government benefits, I hope they don't hold that against her. Thanks for time.

Are you receiving treatment for your anxiety?

How will you prove, if asked, that your wife will not become a public charge?

Your cosponsor is obviously necessary

good luck

Thanks. I was on medication but it didn't really help so I'm just dealing with it on my own, I have got better, I'm fine around family and friends, I'm just very shy around big crowds. I think the only way to prove my wife wont become a public charge is showing proof that she has worked in the past and has a good education, she's young and healthy so she can show she can work. If she's here with me I will feel much better and I will try to work and get off SSI. I just hope Me being on SSI wont get her denied a visa, I hope they wont think just because I'm on government benefits that she will also get on the benefits as well, that's not our plan at all, she plans to work.
