Got the actual green card in the mail: 10/24/2014

Also note the USCIS case status check is still not updated. So guys, don't pay attention to this.

I'm a VSC March filer:

It's good to see so many of us (70%?) have gotten approved by now. I've not heard ANYTHING. I cannot seem to file a service request online, so I just called over to USCIS. Was referred to Tier 2 almost right away (Tier 1 person was extremely nice), but NO HELP from Tier 2 at all.

He simply said that USCIS has 1 full year to act. I should "take no notice" of the 6 month processing time that is listed online. I was very polite, but he would not give me any further information whatsoever (name check done? background check done? assigned to officer? what dates are they currently processing? nothing at all - he just kept saying they have a full year). When I requested a service order he did not want to do that - simply asked if I had other questions and if not, he would have to terminate the call. Geez.

I was given the Tier 1 ID#, but the Tier 2 person didn't give it, and I didn't ask. Should I have?

Anyone else had this bad an experience with USCIS on the phone?

Could I contact my congressman after this experience, or is it too early? We are hoping to buy a house and get approved for a mortgage in the coming few months, and I will need my 10 year green card for that...

NEVER MIND! Received my decision TODAY: approved! Decision date 10/24 :) How funny they couldn't tell me that on the phone...

Hi Everyone,

Got my approval letter in the mail today dated 10/28/14 (VSC). Interestingly.The online status shows that card production was ordered on Oct 31. I have updated my status on the list.
Quite fitting as today is our third wedding anniversary!

Any thoughts on why it is taking so long???? I called up last Friday and they weren't very helpful. I've been in and out of the country twice over the last month with no problems.

08 Feb 2012, Day 0 Sent I-130, I-485, I-765, I-131 and G-1145

09 Feb 2012, Day 1 Package received at Chicago Lockbox

14 Feb 2012, Day 6 Email of acceptance, application being sent to NBC

15 Feb 2012, Day 7 $1070 check cashed.

16 Feb 2012, Day 8 $420 cheque cashed

27 Feb 2012, Day 19 Bio appointment letter received

02 Mar 2012, Day 22 RFE received

03 Mar 2012, Day 23 RFE returned with info

07 Mar 2012, Day 27 Acknowledgement of RFE returned - now waiting for their response

Nov 4, 2011: Interview date assigned
Dec 2, 2011: Interview at Consulate (Result: AP - No reason given on 221g)
Feb 7, 2012: Passport requested by Consulate
(...Husband needed passport for personal reasons during this time...)
Apr 9, 2012: Passport mailed to Consulate
Apr 25, 2012: Visa issued
May 1, 2012: Visa in hand
May 31, 2012: POE at Montreal's Trudeau Airport
Early July: Physical Green Card received in mail. Yes, it's green!

March 13, 2014: ROC filed (went to VSC)

March 17, 2014: NOA

April 22, 2014: Biometrics appointment

December 9, 2014: Case inquiry initiated

December 11, 2014: Response: "The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required security checks remain pending."

March 14, 2014: Received NOA that approval had been given on March 10; expect new GC within 60 days.
