So I got a case update today via email saying that our address had been updated on our case file. Strangely enough we hadn't updated it (even though we needed to) but we had not updated anything. I called to follow up on it, and we were told that it was a glitch. Ummm ok....

This happen to anyone before?

2003/4 School Year: Met hubby while we were in college...became great friends
2005: My college graduation
2011: Began dating
1/13/12: Got Married to the world's best hubby
2/2/12: Mailed I-130, I-485, I-765 to Chicago Lockbox
2/3/12: Package received and signed for by USCIS
2/13/12: Received NOA1 for all 3 petitions
2/16/12: Got driver's license reinstated
2/17/12: Received notice for biometrics appointment
3/1/12: Biometrics appointment successful
3/5/12: Received notification of appointment for interview scheduled for April 4, 2012
3/28/12: Received notification that production has been ordered for my EAD
4/4/12: AOS interview with my hubby; approved on the spot! Thank you Jesus!

TOTAL TIME FROM FILING TO GREEN CARD APPROVAL: 2 months and 2 days.....Didn't even get EAD; no need for it with green card!

REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS:

3/11/14: Shipped I-751 package to Vermont Service Center

3/12/14: Received at VSC and signed for by L ZUCHOWSKI.

3/17/14: Payment shows on our bank account for the check written.

4/4/14: Early biometrics successful!

9/25/14: Case update: APPROVAL NOTICE!!!

10/4/14:10 year green card arrived in the mail!!! Yay!

TOTAL TIME FROM FILING I-751 TO APPROVAL: 6 months and 14 days....No RFE or interview! Thankful to God that this is behind us!

Hey y'all. I'd almost forgotten about good ol' VJ. I was a regular and active contributer when we first filed our CR1 in 2011.

Looks like we are unlucky again in having filed in March for ROC from VSC. Just wanted to say hi and commiserate.

We filed 3/13, received NOA dated 3/17, and he did his biometrics on 4/22. We've heard nothing since. I suppose it's a relief to know it's because there's a systemic issue, but it's still frustrating...

Oct 6, 2011: NVC process completed
Nov 4, 2011: Interview date assigned
Dec 2, 2011: Interview at Consulate (Result: AP - No reason given on 221g)
Feb 7, 2012: Passport requested by Consulate
(...Husband needed passport for personal reasons during this time...)
Apr 9, 2012: Passport mailed to Consulate
Apr 25, 2012: Visa issued
May 1, 2012: Visa in hand
May 31, 2012: POE at Montreal's Trudeau Airport
Early July: Physical Green Card received in mail. Yes, it's green!

March 13, 2014: ROC filed (went to VSC)

March 17, 2014: NOA

April 22, 2014: Biometrics appointment

December 9, 2014: Case inquiry initiated

December 11, 2014: Response: "The processing of your case has been delayed. A check of our records establishes that your case is not yet ready for decision, as the required security checks remain pending."

March 14, 2014: Received NOA that approval had been given on March 10; expect new GC within 60 days.

Hey guys, i started this thread and it's been many months since i've come here well, because no updates at all.

Just yesterday i called and they voice message on USCIS says my address has been updated yesterday?

I did file AR-11 change of address online back in Feb 2014. What is going on?????

I learned of this because my Re-entry permit i-131 was getting delayed so i applied to expedite request which got rejected yesterday, also it said my address didn't match the one on file...but i've been getting all my mails to our current new address.

So frustrating!!!!!!

We were told that they are currently working on petitions received on 3/3/14....so we shall see.

Why is the VSC moving so slowly?

Why was Matt1968 who filed on 3/17 approved so early (congrats, btw!) while the rest of the batch that filed well before Matt1968 aren't even tapped at all?

Is there any reasonable explanation at all?

Thanks for the congrats! I don't know why mine was approved before others (I don't know if they were approved and just didn't come back to let us know) but I think maybe because My family and I was approved for the global entry program before I sent in my ROC might have played a part. We were approved and accepted into the program so I included copies of our Global entry ID cards and approval letters with the package. Since a background check is done by immigration for global entry, this might have saved us some time with the ROC. Just a theory.

Hello again,

Just a follow up about the Global Entry, we were conditionally approved for Global Entry on 01/29 and had our interview at JFK in late February. I sent my ROC on 03/17, so it was pretty much bang bang. I didn't get the Global Entry for the ROC, I got it because my wife would like to go back to the D.R. often, and I didn't want her or my kids waiting in long immigration lines coming back.

Interesting!

Who would have thought Global Entry might have played a role. But the background check alone won't take long, because if you look at the pace of CSC, most cases have been cleared within 3 months. Prolonged background check theory cannot explain the delay, provided that VSC and CSC are subject to the same background check scrutiny, which I believe they are, required by law.

It's a myth. it might be global entry, might be that the USCIS secretly knew you were a nice guy, god knows. but congrats anyway.

We were told that they are currently working on petitions received on 3/3/14....so we shall see.

That sucks, mine was received on Feb. 26. and have heard nothing since my biometrics :( Planning to call this week.
