Gervl, good luck with your RFE!

I received a letter confirming the address change and the website was updated but no RFE yet.

The only thing that comes to mind is sending as many months worth of the same evidence you have already provided showing a trail of you guys having the same address.

We provided 24 months worth of bank statements (just the first page with the address), any bills showing our different addresses over the years, email confirmation from USPS showing confirmation of address forwarding service for both of us, letter from work showing each other as emergency contacts.

I am hoping I sent enough at the beginning so that a new RFE is not needed.... fingers crossed (for both of us!!).

I changed my address right after I had my biometrics, that was on April 17th and we moved on April 23rd. The next day I filled out change of address online at USCIS webiste. It didn't seem to be a problem for me. Good luck anyways!

I mean, I'm not telling anyone on how to do their job, but how is it possible they could be sooo backed up ? VSC HAS already approved MAY filers for God's sake!! and here VSC has still yet to approve some december cases, im sorry if I sound frustrated, but it's starting to get on me this waiting game.

I shared your sentiments and pain. I am a December filer and till yet, I have not heard anything yet. Since biometric on January 9, VSC keeps telling me my case is pending approval. At first, they took a whole month dealing with only December 5 cases. So i wish some of you could access my mind and see how frustated i am with this process. They still have it on their website that it takes six months. In a week, mine will be 8 months. The wait game continues.

Haven't sent my RFE package in yet, will be this week though.

I'm going to be traveling back home at the end of August ... do you think they'll give me issues coming back into the US with my GC + one year extension letter? This is assuming by some miracle that my case gets approved and I get a new card by the 26th, haha.

If I explain that I got an RFE and I'm waiting for approval still, will they even understand?

Also, do you get any sort of NOA when they receive an RFE package? Something to prove that the case is being worked on/still active ?

If you are a little nervous about the extension letter, get an infopass and go to the nearest office to have your passport stamp. Just let them know you misplaced your extension letter. Many people feel comfortable with the notification in their passport then a letter on a piece of paper. It is just my two cents but the truth is, you are also good with the extension letter. I think i have read on VJ from one or two persons that they got delayed and questioned at the airport on their way back. Thanks

Well, I'm hoping my new card arrives while I'm gone so that my husband can FedEx it to me at my parent's place in Canada. Don't want to have to use the letter, even though it says it's good for travel, but I will if I have to!

My wife and step children have traveled to and from Canada a couple times in the last month using their GC + Extension letter and had no problem at all. Simply hand the US Customs officer your GC and then say you have an extension letter if they would like to see it, and when they ask to see it hand it to them. Don't get into the RFE etc as it does not matter you have a valid GC and in the system it is valid. For my wife the officers simply read over the letters, scanned the cards and then said "welcome home". Traveling from other countries may be more difficult but from Canada we have never had any issues and we go back and forth every month due to visitation rights for my step kids.

The CBP officer at the airport (PHL) highly recommended getting a stamp on the passport (INFOPASS, yada yada yada).

I probably will not get it, because I don't expect to travel after the new card comes in, but I thought you might want to consider making the move.

The journey started with the adjustment of status on April 3 2012:

Hey All,

Long-time lurker, first time poster. I filed an I-751 with the VSC February 24 via overnight, got an NOA dated March 10th, Biometric April 8th...and nothing since. Six months since the NOA date passed last week. Is there any point in me booking an info pass appointment or calling to see what's up? It seems like the VSC is just backed up. I do, however, have an out of country job contract for a fixed term starting in a few months and am concerned that between the gc wait and the wait for a re-entry permit, I might have to give it up.

I realize this seems small, but it's an important contract and if I have to refuse it, I have to plan around it. Thoughts?

Since you have a few months to start your contract you still have time.

I think soon we will start seeing approvals on this thread. For re entry permit you need only to be here until you do your biometric which you get within a month of the filing. after that they can even send it directly to the us embassy that you pick
