can anyone with approved cases or ref's tell me what they sent as proof of marriage? all i sent was 3 years of joint taxes, joint lease, and and DD-1172 from when i was in the military but i realized i sent the wrong copy of it afterwards. wanting to know if this is enough information. please help

so I might have over done it, but along with copies of passports etc. I sent

1) marriage certificate

2) my child's birth certificate

3) bank statements for all shared accounts (including credit cards) from the time that conditional residency was approved until the day I sent in the application. This represented about 70% of the paper we submitted

4) all joint leases we've ever had

5) 2 affidavits from friends attesting to the genuine nature of our relationship (these have particular info that has to be included, like how long that person has known you, where you met your friend etc)

6) a copy of our health insurance card with all of our names on it

7) 6 or so photos of us hanging out, usually with our child or other family members. All people in the photos were identified as well as the place the photo was taken

8) all of our heating bills from the point of residency onwards because it was the only utilities bill with both our names on it.

I think that's it. People send less and do fine.

In order to pass the time until VSC touches our application, we've been trying a few things. First, we thought we might move home to Canada but...yeah, Canada just isn't home anymore. So, we decided to stay here...decided to renovate our house...wonder how much work we'll get done on it before any more approvals come in?

I'm about to call USCIS to ask for a service request (it's been 6 months, after all), but I seem to have two receipt numbers. One I got on my NOA1 (first response for I-751), one I got on my Biometrics appointment letter. My NOA1 receipt number doesn't seem to work in the "check status" online system, but the Biometrics appointment letter receipt number does. BUT, when I try to put in a service request online, it's the NOA1 receipt number that works, and the Biometrics appointment receipt number doesn't!?

Which one do I use then I'm calling USCIS?

I have been checking my mail for many many months....hoping for the good news. After 7 months i gave up. So tired of getting disappointed i didn't check mail on Friday and Saturday.

Last night (Sunday) my wife said lets go check mail...i said You go check! GRRRR!!

And When she did! There it was!

I sent in:

-copy of uscis form I-551 for wife and step-daughter

-copy of joint tax returns for the year 2013

-copy of birth certificate for our daughter

-copy of our health insurance cards showing a joint policy

-copy of our credit cards(Mastercard) showing a joint account

-copy of bank statement(TD bank) showing a joint account with my wife and a joint account with my step-daughter

-copies of my family's enrollment in the Global entry program, we were all accepted.

-copy of letter from my employer showing my wife as my primary beneficiary

-copy of my retirement portfolio statement showing my wife as my primary beneficiary

-copy of our flight itinerary on 11/19/12 to santiago to show the newborn baby to wife's family

-copies of photographs taken during our 2 1/2 year marriage in various locations.

This is what I sent as proof.

Thanks God! Finally after more than 7 months waiting, got notified that my new card was ordered on October 14th (Yesterday)!

Despite this, I want to warn everyone of the change of address tool that is done online on USCIS website; it is NOT enough even though the website says it is. I changed my address online about 6 weeks ago. The website said it was successful. Whenever I checked using the receipt number online, it said that the address had been changed successfully. But when I called customer service last week, my address in their system was still the old one, and I had to give the newer one over the phone.

Anyway, I hope that the card will be sent to my new address. Thanks everyone. I updated my info down in the table as you see.
