Where we are now with foreign policy is enough to deal with. dry.png

True. It is a mess, I just can't stand the lame focus on how Obama looks in Putin's eyes on this issue. That's the least of our worries.

This is funny, cause while I did not specifically predict that Russia would invade Ukraine, I did tell my wife a few weeks ago how screwed up I thought it was that they held the olympics in Russia. I even said to me it is 1936 all over again, the world has not learned a thing. Now, I'm not comparing Russia to Nazi Germany in any way shape or form. My point was just that neither regime was one the world should have supported at the time. Well, 1936 olympics in Berlin, 1939 Germany invades poland. 2014 olympics in Russia, same year Russia acts like the big bully it is towards Ukraine. Only a blind doesn't see the similarities in how this world learns nothing about not showing support and encouraging bad regimes. Anyone who thinks the USSR is dead, anyone who thinks the cold war is dead, is delusional.

The current regime in the US is not only blind, but continues to feel the need to apologize to our enemies for causing them to harm us, and thought it was a good idea to reset a relationship with Putin. Putin has always wanted to bring back the breakaway regions of the former Soviet Union. Somehow, there is still a segment of the American population who behave like giggly school-girl subjects to the king of the White House.

The same can be said about the folks here who ride Putin's orphans like a rodeo show. What makes me giggle, the folks that like Obama don't talk about him nearly half as much as the folks who hate him. You can't go a full 6 hours without someone here talking about him, yet it's not his "subjects".

Putin's orphans? Just who would that be?

Are you keeping some sort of tally between the silent low information voter who is watching America be moved in the wrong direction and doesn't care, and those who believe that obama is taking America in the wrong direction? Let's see some numbers please.

True. It is a mess, I just can't stand the lame focus on how Obama looks in Putin's eyes on this issue. That's the least of our worries.

And this is your primary misunderstanding of the situation.

President Obama is the primary representative of the US in the eyes of the world, who mainly don't care, or don't even know, about the role of Congress in the way the American government functions. When President Obama speaks, to most of the world he is speaking for America. So, when he threatens action that he can not follow through on, or has no intention of doing so, the US and, by natural extension, the President, looks weak in the eyes of the world.

And President Putin isn't the only player looking to see how The West in general, and the US in particular, reacts on the international stage. China, with its own territorial "disputes", you can guarantee is watching. Iran will be calculating just how far it can push the nuclear agreement made last year, but which no-one outside of those directly party to it have even seen. Syria, with its ongoing civil slaughter, will also be watching, gauging if and when international consequences may make a difference to the Assad regime's assault in its people. Then there's North Korea and who knows what they are thinking.

No, President Putin isn't the only leader whose eyes we should be concerned about. Not by a long shot.

What numbers are you looking for? Clearly if you don't loathe Obama, you are with destroying America. Maybe it's just me, but if I don't like someone, I won't spend my entire day talking about that person. I would do that for someone I liked. I must be doing it wrong. Orphans is another word for his sack. According to some here, he's the russian version of Chuck Norris.

The American people voted Obama into office, twice. He's our president, flaws and all. I didn't bash Bush or any other president that held office because I respect the position.

It's become abundantly clear that a discussion with you is pointless. At least that's what I'm getting from your posts. Obama is not just someone. He's the sitting president. People who believe in America care about what he says and does. Why do you think most Americans are unhappy with obama today?

I do not criticise the President for who he is. I may disagree with his policies, or his actions, or his pronouncements, and I reserve the right to criticise them accordingly, in this forum, just as I did with his predecessor.

I, too, respect the office. However, part of what made this country great was the right of the people to disagree with that office and do so in public.

So she said under Obama's weak leadership we could have a crisis by Russia invading the Ukraine, which is exactly what is happening.

And Sarah wisely foresaw this based on her extensive foreign policy expertise? She knew that six years out Ukraine would go through a second orange revolution of sorts sending Putin's puppet to hell? She saw all that coming six years ago? Is that what you're saying?

Is it? I see, I think that it's more of a pathetic right wing interpretation of how the rest of the world views the US. What I see is typical international political jostling,. I don't see a Russian free for all. The US is never going to condone actions that compromise the independence of sovereign nations and has always had a policy of warning nations against flouting international law. This is not new or unique to Obama. To imagine the US would or should turn a complete blind eye is bizarre and yet it's completely understandable that the US will be reluctant to engage militarily. There are however other options open to it which I am sure they are actively pursuing.

The only person looking at this with partisan eyes of the two of us is you. <_<

What good is a warning, if there is no prospect of consequences to follow? That is what we are facing here. Hollow threats serve no purpose, except to diminish respect for those making them - in this case, the President of the United States.

What it does is reduce the prospect of success for any alternate course of action that the US might be pursuing behind the scenes.

Obama's Foreign Policy Strategy is to tell the world that he is gutting the US Military and taking them back to pre WW2 levels.Forcing the resignation of our best Senior Military leaders has been operative for quite some time in this Admin
