Hello All:

i hope this finds you guys well. i have a question. i haven't been working since 2012 due to my illness and my husband was offered a scholarship to a school in our state, and i told him to take it. and gratefully he's is doing wonderfully well. however it's time for our ROC. we will send papers out this April, but because we don't live together he's worried that we will be rejected. it's not that i didn't want to join him, i did, but due to illness and my sucky insurance i had to stay near my doctors.

here's the information we have so far, should we get more or what?

both of our names are including on list below

1.) will and living will

2.) at&t dsl bill

3.) electric bill

4.) documentation from doctors my illness

5.) father ill and sister death(send copies of obit

from paper and the funeral which include our names)

6.) car insurance bill

7.)bank statements

8.)letter of schooling/unoffical transcipts

9.) letter from physicans

10.) payment for son's private school recipts

11.)doctor and school information for son's(copies)

12.) 2 letters of validation of relationship

I'm sure others more knowledgeable will chime in, but immediately: I don't see joint tax returns/transcripts listed on your checklist, so do make sure you have those!

As for the reasons you're not living together, you seem to have plenty of documentation and I would expect that as long as you EXPLAIN that fact, in a typed explanation/letter laying out the timeline and reasons for your separate residences, that then they would understand your proofs and documentation and accept it. I hope! But do make sure to explain it clearly to them -- the documents alone might be confusing, so a written explanation will go a long way in helping them understand.

I'm sure others might come along with more suggestions though!

You need to have common residence docs,joint income tax return and joint health insurance.

If you can get these then get them,otherwise send what you have with an explanation for not having missing docs.

as far as tax returns, since we don't live together, i have been filing head of household, because we reside in different locations but in the same state.

You can check the docs required for ROC at USCIS website.

You will need to submit tax transcript for 2011 and 2012 and tax return for 2013.

I don't know if you ever filed taxes for 2011 and 2012 or not.

If you have filed previous years taxes then request transcript from IRS.
