NOA1 and more doubts :)

Hello!!

My name is Maria and I'm new here. I was quite shy to start talking but all your comments in the forums and the information within visajourney is simple amazing! Thanks a lot.

I am Spanish and madly in love with an American. After thinking a lot , we decided to go for the K1 Visa ( even if many people said that with the waiver I could safe money and time). We sent the papers this January and he got a sms on the 24th of January confirming that the papers arrived. However, he never got the NOA1 in the mail. So, I am quite worried right now. I know he contact someone in the Inmigration office saying that the papers where in Texas and that officer said that the only ting he could do is to ask for that again.

The thing is that, yet. Nothing happend.Any clue how we can get in touch with them? I will appreciate if someone can help because Im getting a but anxious.

Apart from that. The big question, Can I visit him? It is really confusing and IVe been reading a lot of things. I went to USA in November before we started all of this and he is coming to visit in April. But, we are considering the option of me going there for 2 months while all of this is pending. I have nothing to lie about if some officer asks me and of course I will leave the country because we choose this process to avoid any suspicions in the future. We just love each other and want to be together.

Thanks in advance and glad to meet you all!

Maria.

Hey, have you guys been checking your case status on https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/login.jsp ? The sms should have told you guys your receipt number and you can use that to check your case status online.

As for the traveling, as long as you have visiting visas then I would think its ok.

What was the sms about? I received NOA1 by email but never receive the hardcopy

NOA1 in my opinion. its just a confirmation that they received your case not an approve.

You will have a receipt number and can check your case in order to see the USCIS gonna ask you for RFE or approve your case.

Good luck !! :)

Hi!

it is not unusual not to get hard copy of NOA1.. BUT it is a little strange that you got the sms more than a month ago but that it is not on the USCIS website yet... Also, no e-mail? Nothing to worry about, of course, but it'd be good to talk to someone from USCIS and make sure they have the right address and that you have the right case number so that you can check online.

I'm also from Spain and I'm almost in the last step (waiting for my interview date) so if you need more info send me a private message and I'll be happy to help you with any doubts you might have.

Best of luck with the process!

OUR TIMELINE (not completed yet!)

I-129F Sent: Dec 20th 2013

I-129F NOA1: Jan 3rd 2014 (notification received by e-mail and text message; hard copy received on Jan 10th)
I-129F NOA2: Jan 27th 2014 (notification through USCIS mailing list; hard copy received on Feb 3rd)
NVC Received: Feb 07th 2014 (verified through phone call; no notification received)
NVC Left: Feb 11th 2014 (CEAC status changed to "in transit"; called NVC to verify)
Processed at Consulate: Feb 20th 2014 (I sent the embassy an e-mail on Feb 18th and they replied Feb 21st saying that they had received my case the day before)
Package 3 received: Feb 21st 2014 (sent by embassy through e-mail attachment; it was a Word document; they usually send it through regular mail)
Package 3 sent: Feb 24th 2014 (received at the consulate Feb 25th; I know this because I sent a certified letter with online tracking)
Interview date: April 30th 2014 (notification received by e-mail on March 21st; hard copy received on March 26th)

Oh guys!! thank you so much.goofy.gif

My boyfriend just call them with the text that he got in his mobile (which had our case number) They said that something happend with the postoffice and it was undelivered (it is weird because we check 300 times the papers and the address was fine). They will send a copy of the NOA1 to his office and they also said that this does not affect the whole process time. I just hope so, because we were supposed to get that on the 20th of January.

I have to be honest and I am a bit lost here. ... So, now we should get the NOA2 somehow (mail? , sms, email?)and it will say if we are accepted or not. Am I right? and then we will get an alien registration number?.......uffffffff

Thanks

@allende I will send you a private message. Thanks for the offer.
