China has been working hand-in-hand with Russia for several years in an effort to devalue the US dollar and secure the flow of oil and natural resources . I worked for several years in China right alongside some of the most brilliant economists and computer engineers I've ever seen. After Mao Zedong died in 1976, Deng Xiao Ping told the people of China that it's "glorious to be rich."

Since that day, China became a strange and unique mix of communism and capitalism. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) continues a firm hold on its people. They are making several lame attempts to modernize, but China culture is also changing. Throughout every province of China, the CCP actively scouts out the best and the brightest to join its team of economists and computer engineers. They are dispersed around the world to receive the best education possible, and then return home to work. The families of these best and brightest are well-cared for, and given large homes, money, and gifts.

There are several million of these young engineers who work 24 hours a day monitoring Internet activity in their own country and around the world. They have gathered a database of key vulnerabilities in which they may covertly compromise banking, communication, and other systems. So, when you say China will do 'nothing', you can be sure that's exactly what they want the world to think. If by nothing, you mean not engaging in an armed conflict, you are most likely 100% correct. The kind of conflict they are engaged hand-in-hand with Russia involves a covert war in cyberspace and the manipulation of the international banking system.

You have a correct view of China. I was thinking along the lines of china and a military situation.. China has always held a long range view of solving a problem or exploiting a weakness. Americans underestimate the Chinese.

A most curious response in this thread. You laugh about the fact that in your imagination the US is being laughed as a result of Obama being the president? How does that begin to make sense in your heads? Seriously, I am curious to understand this.

Obama Skips National Security Team Meeting on Russia, Ukraine

A White House official emailed some reporters to say that President Obama's team met today to discuss the ongoing situation on Ukraine. It appears President Obama did not attend.

"The President's national security team met today to receive an update on the situation in Ukraine and discuss potential policy options. We will provide further updates later this afternoon," reads the full statement.

According to Time magazine's Zeke Miller, Obama skipped the meeting. "Obama did not attend the meeting, but WH official says he has been briefed by Susan Rice and his national security team," says Miller.

Did he have another fundraising event to attend to.?

So Ukraine is doing what Russia wants it to? Ukraine doesn't want the south or eastern parts anyway.

What, the parts heavy in industry?

I suspect the provisional government in the Ukraine would very much like to retain those parts, in order to keep the Ukraine as economically viable as possible.

I hope she does a better job than the people who have briefed her in the past.

Nothing.

OK, but if the fault that the posters in this thread have with Obama is that he is weak, do you seriously believe that Putin would think that doing nothing at all and letting him run amok wold make Obama look like a strong president? That makes no sense. I am all for criticising Obama for the mistakes he makes, that's fine, but whining about him looking weak in the eyes of Putin is simply not a meaningful criticism - seriously, who cares what an autocratic dictator like Putin thinks about any American? There is however a serious issue regarding the role the US plays in international politics in maintaining sovereign stability. It may well be that this role should be moved to the forefront of the political agenda so that there is a consensus on the position that should be taken. It's all well and good for the right wingers to laugh and jeer, but that's not a mature and meaningful response if the US collectively wants to remain the premier super power. Man up and produce a meaningful strategy, don't act like a whiny school kid.

I am sure they realy want them parts but not gonna happen now. They want to go west then suffer the consequences. We should start seeing the eastern and southern parts asking for a referendum to go Russina and with Russian troops there it will happen. he votes will ensure that Ukraine is split up.

I can't speak for the ones you're talking about. We all know they'll find fault with whatever Obama does.

I'm not saying they don't do covert stuff. But they are inherently distrustful of Russia as well. Why would they want to devalue the American dollar? That makes no sense. China devalues their own currency in order to benefit from their trade with the us. Why would they want to devalue the money they are making/buying?

I'm not sure who 'they' are, but whoever they are it isn't difficult to cite a long list of policies, procedures, and behaviors that have divided this country in two.

She's not talking about you, neither am I.

It would be a good idea for you to go back and re-read my posts about China. Russia and China have a convenient partnership and strategic alliance that is beneficial to both and not a sloppy kiss.

Ukrainian armed forces dispatched to Crimea have switched to the side of local authorities and are expected to take military oath soon, Russian news agencies report.
