RHettVoe. I don't have time to answer back because I am more reasonable and matured than you are clearly portraying by your comment. Hope the sun shines where you are and keep you happy. Good day :-)

If you try to be clever, you will be sent home....tell the truth...those who have been admitted even when logic says something is out of whack ( who gets 6 months of vacation in a year??)...were lucky...you might not be...so....don't try to evade questions with silly answers.....and don't arrive with 5 suitcases and your resumes, or you will be turned around (denied admission) in seconds...

it's not gonna be 6 months. i stayed 1 month and when i go its gonna be a year from when i first went and i'm only staying 1 or 2 weeks this time. thank u for the info

don't be offensive to each othersleepy.gif im just going to say the true. and answer what i been asked. i'm going to tell them im seeing my boyfriend if asked or if they ask whose address i'm staying at becaue that is the true i don't wanna be stupid and be cought for miss representation and after that have issues with my cr1 or k1 not decided yet. i rather be sent home for being honest then let in and later have that affect me and my bf in a negative way. more worried that they are going to ask me about previous stay.since i changed address after the first night, from the first i gave them. but i heard they only want the address for the first night anyway i dont know im just gonna have to explain and say the true, thanks for all the info

It does rather assume a level of stupidity on behalf of the PoE that even I would have a hard time justifying.

Your BF can not visit because of work, that is normal, well for long visits anyway, so what is your situation that does allow you to do so, obviously not a student judging by the dates.

okay i think it has been a misunderstanding. last time i went to the states i was there 1 month next time i travel its gonna be a year from my first visit and in only staying 1 or 2 week. i have not been there 3 months and im not going to stay 3 months this time idk where the confusion came from. sorry english is not my native language.

that means i be traveling once a year with 1 or 2 weeks stay the longest 1 month. are u asking me how i can afford this ? is this not normal for me traveling once a year seems normal? sleepy.gif

I have been getting denied before..... Horrible experience...... Was getting asked 4h questions after 10h flight and couldn't see my (at that time) still boyfriend at all... Same situation like OP, didn't overstayed and wanted to go back to him to see him after a to short time and Germany (and I didn't had a job in Germany :-/) I wanted to stay for another 2 months :-/ we didn't do enough research about how long you have to stay outside the country at least :C,.... I travelled to him from march 25th until june 16th, 2013 (didn't overstayed) and wanted to go back in the end of june 2013 to him....like I saied we were not even allowed to see us at the airport, I was getting denied and they told us i could only come back with a visa.....

Applying for a K1 Visa right now since august 12, 2013 (with a good immigration attorney; because of even this bad experience in POE), we got our NOA2 on February 14th, 2014! Still in Process... Interview hopefully soon.

Please be careful with going back again.... I can really only say, that even when I have my Visa I'm f#### scared to pass the officer in POE again,.... Another reson why my fiance is going to be with me when we fly to america.

i'm so sorry to hear that, me i been out of the states for a year around the time i pick to travel is it okey or do i have to wait more then a year? good luck on your jorney i wish u the best

Multiple 90 day trips can cause problems

I brought my road bike then my mountain bike.

Tell him to have a look on BikesDirect.com.

To Zoom: at the end of the day, you may or may not be admitted to the US....a lot will depend on how busy the CBP folks are (if there are 3 or 4 international flights arriving together, that lengthens the lines but shortens the inspection period), or your own body posture, the way you answer questions, etc....now, if, as you said, you stayed only around a month last trip, I don't see any real issues for your next visit (I think some of us thought you stayed nearly 90 days and were planning to return for another equally long trip)...if you arrive during a slow period, well, you might get more scrutiny, or maybe not. If you show up with 6 suitcases packed to the gills, for a two week trip, well, that will get you into secondary in seconds...

But if you are tempted to try to be more clever than the border folks, that is when you will face a lot more scrutiny and then put yourself in a position in which you may be denied admission. Don't lie, avoid the 'oh, I'm here to visit some friends [whose names you cannot recall], cause I really don't have an American BF...well...er...I did...but we...er...uh....broke up....twenty minutes ago...." or something equally lame. Don't put on an act...they will see right through it...remember, credibility is the best asset a person can possess that can either smooth their way to admission to the US or improve their chances to get a visa...damage that credibility and the door will shut in your face instantly. Good luck.

post below removed and returned to view minus the quote, which was removed for tos violation

Any sane person knows that when dealing with any law enforcement official you should only answer the question asked. Answering more is not only foolish , but a waste of the officials time. As you said CBP officers inspect hundreds of people each day and only have a brief time to interview each person. Answering only what is asked is actually helpful to them. If they want clarification they'll ask. It is not "playing games" as others have alluded.

OP, as others have stated just be prepared with documents to show your intention to return home and tell the truth answering only what you are asked.

Zoom, I have a feeling you'll be fine. There's nothing illegal about dating someone in another country and going to visit them. Given that it's been so long since your last trip and you are only staying a few weeks. Just bring lots of ties to your home country to show if asked.

Boiler, thanks for the tip! Bikes direct looks like it has some good deals.

Just out of curiosity, how would the IO know how many bags you've brought with you, assuming you go through the immigration section before collecting bags at the carousel and then go through customs. Is your checked luggage on their screens? That's the way it is at our airport anyway, perhaps it's a different set up in other airports? I've heard from a lot of people not to bring too much luggage & my bf is only bringing the one bag and a bike. Kind of a silly question but hearing stories from people who've been turned around and not let in for their visits, I was wondering at what point does luggage get taken into account?

I have only been to New Jersey and Houston airports. Both times I got my baggage AFTER I had been through Immigration. It must be different depending on which airport you are at.
