I finally received an response from the NVC, although they were very unhelpful on the phone, they did follow-up with an e-mail a day later. I have the case and invoice number for my wife, but they did not include a separate document (PDF) for my step-son. Since both petitions were files together, I assume they share the same case and invoice number? or should i inquire as to the second petition for my step -son?

  • 2 weeks later...

Hi, I got replied by the NVC too just last week. I am applying for IR1 and IR2 for my step kids. I did get 3 invoices for each one of them. They have different case and invoice numbers too.

Call them and ask if your step-son is included on your spouse's case. I think it will have a different beneficiary id. If you pay online and your son is included in your spouse's case, it will appear there and have an option to pay both.

I have a different case number with my wife and step-daughter and they automatically merged it. I requested via email to process them separately since they are living apart right now (different countries). When I pay for my wife's case online I saw my daughter's name that is because they haven't reviewed yet my request.
