2 letters from USCIS in one week!

Hello VJ members,

I have a situation and don't know how to deal with it. I sent my AOS package (to adjust status from K1) in October. Got my EAD+AP in late December. This week, I got a letter from USCIS saying that my AOS interview would be potentially waived. Two days later, I got another letter from USCIS asking me to submit : "a local police clearance from each location in which you have resided during the last 5 years" and "a signed vaccination certificate".

I have never resided in a country other than my home country and have already submitted a police clearance document with my K1 visa package. Also, I have already took the medical exam prior to my interview and submitted a copy of my vaccination record with my AOS package.

I have no idea what's going on with my case. Somebody else with a similar experience? Please help.

Thank you

I want to add something but I don't know why I can't edit my previous post. Actually, there is a "see attached" between brackets next to local police clearance and vaccination record. However, there is nothing about police clearance in the attached documents, they are exclusively about the vaccination. So, I don't really know what they mean by a local police clearance.

Yes, I have already completed my biometrics. I am sorry, what do you mean by did you have to do it twice? I had only one appointment, not two. I don't remember quite well but I think there was a problem with fingerprinting. What's the connection?

Sometimes people's biometric fingerprints cannot be recorded properly. Maybe they have sweaty hands, or the machine malfunctioned, or whatever. Anyway, if that happens and the FBI could not process your fingerprints correctly then USCIS send you a second biometrics appointment. If your fingerprints are still not clearly captured at this second appointment then instead of giving you a third they just RFE you for a police certificate from all jurisdictions in the US that you have lived.

My question asking whether you had had it done twice was to see whether you fell into this category; if you've only had biometrics once then it doesn't sound like it does, so it's unusual for them to RFE you in this way. You may wish to make an Infopass appointment at your local office seeking clarification; that or just obtain the police certificates and submit them to them as they have asked.

I also think it's a failed biometrics (not that they found bad activity, but rather that your fingerprints couldn't be read by the machine). Sometimes that happens from genetics, sometimes it's people who work with their hands, etc. You can try infopass for questions, but they will want another police cert from Morocco and you can get a US one from your local... county maybe? Not sure what jurisdiction you need, you could call and ask.

For the medical, you will need your vaccinations transcribed into a I-693 by a civil surgeon. Call around for prices, it should be only like $25-$50 for vaccine transcriptions, but sometimes Civil Surgeons don't know about it and try to get you to get the full medical. If they do, call someone else.

AOS for my husband
