I am petitioning for my dad and we submitted applications for the I-130 and the I-485 at the same time. He got his I-130 approved last year. Does this approval ever expire?

For his I-485, they requested additional evidence but it may be past the time frame that they wanted. I tried to look up his receipt number online but I get a:

  • At this time USCIS cannot provide you with information for your case. Please contact the NCSC 1 (800) 375-5283 for additional information.

Anyone know why I can't get any status on the I-485? Is it because it has been closed? I tried calling the USCIS number but they were also not able to find any information in their computer with the receipt number.

Lastly, does the NVC need to be involved in this process at all? I was told to not communicate with NVC as that will require my dad to leave the US.

Why do you start a new thread instead of just replying to the old one?

I-130 approval never expires.

When did you first file I-485? WHen did you get the RFE for missing I-94?

Do not communicate with NVC.
