I already did my package, gathered tax documents, employment letter, etc ..Just waiting to get the Joint-sponsor documents done too..I also told him to get the PCC and mail it to me so I'm waiting on that too

will they need his signature on anything ? (maybe I can send him now and he can mail with the document he will mail to me) or will the documents he will need to sign come later on in the process?

Nope, since the two forms the beneficiary needs to fill out is now done online, there's nothing for them to sign.

Hi Saylin,

I have a question.MY PD for f2a category is June 12th 2013.Got approved on NOV 7th 2013. NVC received case on dec 30st 2013.I did all formalities which are needed to finish your case. But i got a checklist on feb 14 2014 that my I864 EZ form i didn't put N/A on secondary address and they need a prove of domicile. I sent them what did they ask.On feb 21st 2013 they put it into system.and when i called them today on march 10th 2014. they still saying it will take 30 working days.what do you reckon when i can accept some kind of response from them as i am to scared from retrogression. any idea thanks in advance.I appreciate u for the work you are are doing.God Bless u

As they stated, it takes around 30 business days for them to review. Once that's done, if everything is accepted, then the case is closed. Your case will then be put into queue for an interview date.

Hi Saylin,

Please update my info. Finally got case # this morning. Thanks.

Updated! And grats!

Hi Sayiln,

I just received email checklist from NVC,

General Instructions

[x] You will need to complete and submit the new form, completely filled out (all pages required), which includes the changes noted below. Submitting single pages of the form with the correction is not acceptable. In order to make corrections you will need to download a new form at ww.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov.

Part 5 Sponsor's Income and Employment

[x] doe, John's income indicated on the I-864EZ Part 19 does not correspond to

that shown on the most recent tax return and W-2(s).

==========

I sent all the documents with the correct information. what dose it mean, is it a false check list? Please help and advice.

Thanks

Kalloo

Nope, not a false checklist no0pb.gif False checklists are only when they ask for the ENTIRE package. Something specific is a real checklist.

Hi

I am getting ready to send my AOS and have my tax transcripts for 2012, 2011, 2010. I also finished my 2013 return but only have my 1040 and W-2s. Should I include the 2013 return with my AOS or will I just risk a checklist by adding it since I dont have the transcript. Any ideas?

Also will I need to order the 2013 transcript for my wife when she goes to the interview or will the 2013 return and w-2s suffice.

Thanks in advance.

For tax information, it's either tax transcripts OR the entire tax return (1040, W2s, 1099s, schedules, worksheets). So, if you have 2013 taxes done, then yes, it'd be better if you used that information on the I-864 (question on past 3 years' income) and then send in the 2013 tax package (everything sent to the IRS). Then bring the 2013 tax transcript to the interview. The tax return and W2 is sufficient, but transcripts are much preferred.

Hey Saylin or anyone:

I just got a checklist for my entire IV packet, which I just got an e-mail that they finally opened it on friday. Called the operator, they said it wasn't anything and that they hadn't reviewed the packet I sent on 2/14 yet. They also said they're waiting for my checklist response for the AOS, but I sent that out on the 5th

So it was basically an entirely fake checklist. I'm just not sure what generated it :|.

False checklists are based on them reviewing another package/form/checklist. I'm assuming in your case then it's based on them reviewing the DS-260.

My NOA2 and email updates say that my petitions have been transferred to DoS. How different is that from NVC?

Who do I call to check for date of receipt and case number? DoS or NVC?

NVC is a part of the DOS. You call NVC as DOS no longer gives over information.

Hi Saylin,

Please update my info. NVC received. Thanks.

I'd love to, but since you didn't tell me what date (nor is your timeline updated), I can't do anything :P

Hello,

I just submitted my AOS packet on Monday (I am the petitioner and my wife is the beneficiary). Now that the packet is off to the NVC would it be possible for me to quit my job and go live with my wife in her country until the immigration process is over? I'm wondering if the NVC or Interview process will require additional income at a later date which I would not be able to provide if I go live with her. We are just sick and tired of being separated, it is wearing on our relationship and she makes more money than I do anyways so me staying with her for a few months is not a hardship on us really. Im simply worried I will need to prove income at some point after the AOS process and I wont be able to. Thank you for your input.

If you quit your job, then you're obligated to bring an updated I-864 to the interview (stating you're now unemployed), in which you'll then need a joint sponsor. Also, if you go live in Canada, you'll likely need to prove domicile at the interview, which can be a real b!tch. I have seen countless people put in AP at Montreal for not sufficiently proving domicile.

Does anyone know if NVC will expedite our case if I tell them my in-laws can't stand me and are out to get me? ? LOL.

Um, no rofl.gif

Hi saylin.,

i just have a quick question that i am in the middle of filling out affidavit of support form and i will be needing a joint sponser which i 864 form i should fill out and which one should by joint sponser fill out, as i am the petitioner

Petitioner: I-864

Joint sponsor: I-864

hi saylin,

do you think i will get a checklist for my AOS package? i might have made this error.

I filled out the total income on I-864ez exactly like my tax transcript and the decimal is arounded up

2012 total income I put is 69080.00 but on w2 is 69079.78.

On the I-864ez instruction
For purposes of this affidavit, the line for gross (total) income on IRS Forms 1040 and 1040A will be considered when determining income.

Thanks!

The line you're supposed to use is from the transcripts, not the W2s. So, if you did that, then you should be fine.

Saylin,

Thank you for your reply. What is AP? Also, if I just take a "leave of absence" from work and my boss agrees to re-hire me upon my return would I still be "obligated" to bring an updated I864 to the interview? The proof of domocile would be easy I would think given a letter from my employer stating I am begining work on x date, my american bank accounts, bills from storage company with my personal belongings, and a lease agreement from a new apartment dont you think? I know this is all speculation but I just want to run my ideas to someone who knows a lot more than me. thank you for your help!

Rickkant, we are on the same boat. Did u request for supervisor's review when u called NVC? How did u do that?

Hey rickkant, let me know how it goes as well. I submitted the ds261 on 5feb. Spoke to a supervisor last week when I got a checklist for the aos package asking me to submit the ds 261. Supervisor asked us to disregard the checklist and reiterated that the delay for ds261 was due to the backlog.. Nth that we could do but wait.. Sigh.. Let's see if u have any luck with the supervisor review? It's taking way too long.. The nvc guy I spoke with today thought I was asking about 5mar ds261 and was surprised when he heard it's 5feb. Lol..

Would you fill in your timeline (specially the NVC part) so we have an idea how backed up NVC is. Also, you could request Ms. Saylin to add you to the NVC Worksheet.
