Hello all. I am an October 2013 filer. Had a PD of 10/3 (NBC), a transfer date of 3/7 (TSC), and just today received my approval notice ("Post-Decision Activity" phase).

What can I expect next? Should I be doing anything in the meantime? Also, does anyone have any up-to-date estimates on how long we can expect to wait in the NOA2 process (that is, from the time of I-130 approval to the time the beneficiary is able to enter the US)? Please refer me to any resources that may answer this if a direct answer cannot be provided. Thanks.

Also, my wife is currently visiting in the US for a short stay. I assume she will need to return at some point? Does anyone know when that should be? Thanks again!

Hi Sayiln,

I just received email checklist from NVC,

General Instructions

[x] You will need to complete and submit the new form, completely filled out (all pages required), which includes the changes noted below. Submitting single pages of the form with the correction is not acceptable. In order to make corrections you will need to download a new form at ww.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov.

Part 5 Sponsor's Income and Employment

[x] doe, John's income indicated on the I-864EZ Part 19 does not correspond to

that shown on the most recent tax return and W-2(s).

==========

I sent all the documents with the correct information. what dose it mean, is it a false check list? Please help and advice.

Thanks

Most depressing conversation with NVC rep Matt:

Matt: Well, we received your case and it's being put into the computer right now.

Me (excited): Right now??? Like, I will have a case number and everything today?

Matt: No.

Me: But you said it's being entered into the computer RIGHT NOW.

Matt: Well, right now as in a window of 30 business days.

Thanks, Matt, for building up my hopes and then crushing them.

I spoke to that same guy and I also had the same reaction.... I can not imagine why he will actually say your case is being entered into the system and then when you press further he tells you it's 30 day window.

Congrats on the I-130 approval. Roughly these are the steps from here on out. If I am incorrect on any of this please correct me.

1. USCIS (TSC) ships your case file to National Visa Center (NVC).

2. NVC confirms they received your case file (for this you should be calling NVC probably once a week starting a week from now).

3. NVC assigns a case # and IIN to your case file (this step is taking 30 business days or 6 weeks right now). Again. you should be calling them once a week after about 20 business days from NVC receipt date in Step 2. Meanwhile you should be reading (and re-re-reading) posts 1 and 2 (posted by Ms. Saylin) and getting your AOS and IV packages ready.

4. Once you receive the Case # and IIN you will be able to pay the AOS fee, IV fee, complete and submit DS260 and DS261 online. Also, be able to send in the AOS and IV packages you have been readying in Step 3. This step will take about another month or 6 weeks.

5. Once NVC has all your documents and they are in order NVC will declare Case Complete.

6. NVC will schedule an interview date at the consulate for the beneficiary. Typically, interviews for April were being scheduled in February.

This should give you a rough idea of the time line from now on.

From what I've seen, and others can chime in.. since it's a specific line item check-list; it's not a false check list.

I have been concerned about this, and I have seen so many others that have got a checklist for this item.

What value did you fill out for the total income? Did you use the 1040 "total income"?

Did you have W-2 income plus other income such as Capital gains/Dividends/interest etc?

The part that concerns me is that 864-ez instruction state that all the income being used to qualify must be Sponsor's W-2 incomes. What happens if you qualify via the W-2 incomes alone but have other incomes such as listed above. Do they expect you to only report the W-2 incomes in that filed? Or do they not want you to use 864-EZ all together.

Rickkant, we are on the same boat. Did u request for supervisor's review when u called NVC? How did u do that?

it was recommend by NLR, thanks to him

I tried 4 times before the 5th person was nice and realized that its more than 5 weeks and i have not received my invoice

and he said he will put a supervisor review on my case.

few times earlier i called they said iam not eligible for this review, and few operators said i will get it soon.

I don't know how this supervisor review works but hopefully i get invoiced soon.

I will keep u posted on this forum.

but its really frustrating when everyone gets invoiced and mine does not flow like other peoples progress.

Hi

I am getting ready to send my AOS and have my tax transcripts for 2012, 2011, 2010. I also finished my 2013 return but only have my 1040 and W-2s. Should I include the 2013 return with my AOS or will I just risk a checklist by adding it since I dont have the transcript. Any ideas?

Also will I need to order the 2013 transcript for my wife when she goes to the interview or will the 2013 return and w-2s suffice.

Thanks in advance.

Hey Saylin or anyone:

I just got a checklist for my entire IV packet, which I just got an e-mail that they finally opened it on friday. Called the operator, they said it wasn't anything and that they hadn't reviewed the packet I sent on 2/14 yet. They also said they're waiting for my checklist response for the AOS, but I sent that out on the 5th

So it was basically an entirely fake checklist. I'm just not sure what generated it :|.

thanks for the reply dear waiting.

i used both w2 and 1040. i just checked my documents, for 2012 did entered different amount . i entered 90000.00 but w2 says 90428.00. i think that's the problem.

tomorrow i will send again for 2012. i hope that will fix this issue.

should i again send all 2012 2011 and 2010 or just for 2012? since they have asked most recent income?

thanks

Oh ok, that explains the checklist.

You have to resend a new I-864ez, but just to be prudent I would send copies of all of the supporting documents along.
