Pls does anyone know how long the Japanese police certificate is good for?

I ordered mine last August before I moved out of Japan. Mine is still sealed with the inkan on it. Should I order a new one for the interview?

And also, do I open the envelope in order to scan it in or do I leave it sealed and just scan the envelope? We are doing EP.

We received our NVC and IIN mumbers today. My wife didn't give my (beneficiary's) email address. Does this mean NVC will physically send me the package instead of emailing it?

Can we have that changed?

petition approved on 26-Feb-2014 and "shipped" to NVC on 27-Feb-2014. I called this morning and it still did not show up yet at the NVC.

How long that's it take for it to get there? not for a case number, just to be received?

Just got off the phone with NVC. The agent told us they are working on 1/28 cases. We were received on Feb 3, so she suggested Friday. We will see! Hope this bring someone some hope.

But I m excited. We are finally getting close...T_T

Yes the agent is right since our case was also received by NVC on 1/28 and was entered on Friday, 3/7

Your wife can always call back to give your email. When my case number and IIN were first available, they already had my email address on file but it was too early to add the beneficiary's. I called back a day later and asked if I could give them the second email and they took it no problem. Both of us have received email correspondence since then.

Is the ship date based on information you got from Tier 2 at USCIS, or based on the automated notices? I would be surprised if it was shipped to NVC literally the very next day after approval. It should be getting close, though. My petition shipped from CSC and arrived at NVC in two weeks. I think the worst/longest I've seen it take is ~4 weeks, but can't recall offhand if that was a pattern for a particular service center.

Hello Saylin,

I am trying to gather the tax transcripts for the AOS......I went on the IRS website and they have a feature where i can download and print my transcripts immediately. Do you think this will work or should I do the traditional request by mail?

also the IRS transcripts that I downloaded looked a bit odd since it didnt specify who made what in the wages section. is that normal? or might i be looking at a wrong transcript? ...i did select the IRS transcript for immigration purposes though

Awesome!!! I also tend to remember there was someone on the forum whose case was received on 1/29 got his/her case number and IIN last Friday!

BTW, congrats!!!! I will also be watching your progress and comparing timelines whatnot for the rest of our NVC journey!

the date is based on status update on www.uscis.gov

it showed approval on the 26th and then shipped to NVC on the 27th of february.

I'll call NVC again Wednesday to check and then I'll call USCIS to talk to a tier 2 if it does not show up at NVC by then

Nope, it'll all be electronic There's still a delay between when things become available and when they actually email you about it, though, so if you want to get out of NVC as fast as possible definitely don't wait up for their communications.

Oh I see. This means we'll have to call them and give them my (beneficiary's) email address ASAP before they mail out the snail mail package.
