Good morning everyone, I am the beneficiary and I was wondering if I can call directly NVC to find out if the file arrived. I know at USCIS only the petitioner could make inquiries.

Thank you and all the best to all!

Yes, the beneficiary can call. I was the only one that called during the NVC process ;)

Yeah, my husband was working full-time (and still does), so I decided to take over the immigration process. So, once we got to NVC, I knew the process like the back of my hand and didn't trust him in calling laughing.gif

Which country you're from only is involved in getting a faster interview date or if you spend time in AP or how hard the interview is. High fraud countries or countries that are on bad terms with the USA tend to get AP (administrative processing) and have harder interviews. Some countries have to wait a long time for interviews (Egypt is currently waiting 4-5+ months from case complete to interview.

I found my husband being a veteran didn't do anything for our petition or interview but ya never know since the petition was 4 months for approval, but at the time, there were non-expedited approvals in 2 months.

Thanks for explaining! 4-5 months? Wow, that sucks. I think here in Germany it's 2-4 weeks blush.png

That's great to know! I work full time also and used to have to call during my 30 minute lunch break during the day and would have to hang up because there were long waiting times. Now he too can make some phone calls. :):)

Don't forget, they're open until midnight EST, so unless you work that late too, you can call after you're done work ;)

I have a question/concern. We fill out our DS-260, and kept "petitioner's" current address and address all along the process as the mail in address for the applicant.

Now if I move right around the time or a little before the interview of the applicant.

1- Who do I inform? NVC and USCIS both?

2- Does the applicant take the new address information with her to the interview?

any ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated
