Hi everyone,

We just called NVC (30 minutes on hold). Our case have been received, and I guess we were just happy it wasn't lost so we forgot to ask for a change of mailing address (petitioner's), can we change it after a case number is assigned or will it be too late?

Also, Saylin, could you add us to the spreadsheet please? The dates are in my signature. (Our case had been transferred but as we moved out before receiving the notice, we never knew which office it was approved at)

Thanks

I did call last week, our file was arrived on 24th feb. we were very worry cuz I (petitioner) never received NOA2, and thought our file got lost.

They mailed NOA2 to my old address which is in FRANCE and mailed back to USCIS, and i called USCIS to change my address&resending NOA2.

I asked how to change my address when i was on the hone with NVC, they said i have to wait till they put our file on computer system.

so I guess i have to wait till we get case #, then change my address?

The more I think I know the less I feel like I need to learn..

here is an AOS question that I think I misunderstood--

My situation is that I have filed TWO petitions - One for my wife and one for my stepdaughter- I also have another biological daughter with my wife who is a US citizen and I have a 19 year old son from a previous marriage that I still pay child support on at this time.

I BELIEVE-- that I need to fill out two I864(s) one for my wifes petition and one for my stepdaughters petition. each are listed as the principal immigrant on their own forms in PART 2

PART 3 I check the first BOX -and do NOT list any additional family members immigrating at the same time or within 6 months.

PART 5 - has to come up to 5 on both Affidavits of support -- (not counting anyone twice-) but BOTH AOS will show 5?

and lastly I see the barcode changes as you enter data, but in some fields you cannot add NA where NOT APPLICABLE. is there any advantage to filling out electronic and the barcode adjusts automatically or is it the same to print it out and fill it in by hand (VERY CLEAR AND NEAT)..

thank God we have this forum to bounce questions around- when I read some of this stuff- I can interpret it either way and English is my first language-

I did try same, but changing from foreign country to U.S is not possible from website.

only changing U.S to U.S address is possible. to change my husband address ( France to France), i had to mail to MSC with NOA1 copy, it was success.

For the DS-260 for employment history my husband doesn't remember two phone numbers from the two places he worked at in the past in Saudi Arabia. Is it okay just put "000-000-0000" since we don't know?

So if I'm sponsoring my husband and stepchild is it 2 different i1864forms ?

I called NVC and they told me to read forms...... Which I did but still confused

If 2 separate forms I think I can use i864ez

Just confused the more I read!

You should use the I-864 and use two different forms.

Thanks NLR! This really helped alot smile.png

You're welcome!!!

Hi,

my I-130 was approved 03/06, so I'm still waiting for it to be transferred to NVC. But I've got a question (ok, technically it's more than one). I don't know if anyone has asked this before, I googled it and couldn't find anything...Does it matter what country you're from? Do some countries get processed faster than others? Also, I had a J1 visa 6-7 years ago (was an Au Pair after high school) and my husband is a veteran, could that affect processing (positively or negatively)?

Which country you're from only is involved in getting a faster interview date or if you spend time in AP or how hard the interview is. High fraud countries or countries that are on bad terms with the USA tend to get AP (administrative processing) and have harder interviews. Some countries have to wait a long time for interviews (Egypt is currently waiting 4-5+ months from case complete to interview.

I found my husband being a veteran didn't do anything for our petition or interview but ya never know since the petition was 4 months for approval, but at the time, there were non-expedited approvals in 2 months.

For the DS-260 for employment history my husband doesn't remember two phone numbers from the two places he worked at in the past in Saudi Arabia. Is it okay just put "000-000-0000" since we don't know?

Is there any way to google to places and find out the phone numbers?

Hi, that is what we are going to do. We are waiting for the case number (we don't expect it before the end of the month) and then we will change the address over the phone. Never received NOA2 either, as we moved out of the UK beforehand. We filed a request with USCIS, they changed the address, but they haven't sent the notice again. However, the hard copy notice is not important for the process (Saylin answered my question), so nevermind! :-)

He is a US citizen, lived in the UK, now moved back to the US. I am French, we met in 2010 in the UK and got married in March 2013 in France.

Good morning everyone, I am the beneficiary and I was wondering if I can call directly NVC to find out if the file arrived. I know at USCIS only the petitioner could make inquiries.

Thank you and all the best to all!
