I made a mistake on my ds 260. On the given name box I forgot to add my middle name but on my full name box I mentioned my complete name. I am going to call NVC tomm. Informing them off my stupidity and asking them how can it be fixed? Anyone here who faced something like this or made an error on ds 260 can possibly advice on the next step. Thank you

i made the same mistake and realized it 3 days later. felt heartbroken and almost to a breakdown. called NVC talked to a very nice operator. told me it's a minor mistake, i might receive a checklist or it can be correct at the embassy but it all DEPENDS ON THE REVIEWER.

call NVC too, ill be glad to know their answer to you too..

good luck to our stupidity rolleyes.gifsmile.png

There are 3 requirements on the I-864EZ. If you meet them, you can use that.

As for the household count, for someone who is sponsoring their spouse and no other people in their household it should look like this:

864l.gif

yes, they will email you back. It takes about 2-3 weeks though which is why you send the email as soon as you have the case number. Don't send anything until after you get the email back or else you risk slowing your file down.

Who said they are doing Jan 24th???

Do you think they get through (at least) a day's worth of petitions in a day?. i.e: if they are at Jan 24th and my NOA2 is Feb 24th should i get my case in 1 month's time? (roughly)

how did you guys know the date they are currently working on?

If your sponsoring more than 1 person you can't use the i864ez. Use the i864 and it's only 1 form for both.

If your lawyer filed your I-130 he would have send in the lawyer G form and the DS-261 at NVC doesn't apply to you your AOS and IV is invoiced together.

The plus side of having a lawyer. So nothing to worry about.

thank you so much dwheels! you always help answering my questions! God bless you.

Hi,

my I-130 was approved 03/06, so I'm still waiting for it to be transferred to NVC. But I've got a question (ok, technically it's more than one). I don't know if anyone has asked this before, I googled it and couldn't find anything...Does it matter what country you're from? Do some countries get processed faster than others? Also, I had a J1 visa 6-7 years ago (was an Au Pair after high school) and my husband is a veteran, could that affect processing (positively or negatively)?

Ive been an Au Pair as well and my husband is Active Duty, unfortunately it doesnt do anything. Only thing i believe is that once they finally LOOKED at our petition we got approved pretty fast, i think it because the background check on my husband was pretty easy.

I also hope that once they get at NVC to our case it will be a lil faster as they assigned a visa to me before. But will see once that is the case.

And because of the country questions. I think they treat every case the same, so doesnt matter which country.

Yeah, once they physically had the petition we got approved within a week, which was pretty fast. Background check on veterans shouldn't be too difficult either (he's been out of the Army for a year now, so they should still be able to use all that military stuff).

Well let's hope for a speedy process. Weather-wise I prefer Germany right now, but other than that I'm sick an tired of waiting.

Hey Saylin,

I have a question. So, I requested a case number change, in the mean time should I pay the AOS and IV fees once they or available or wait until my case number has been changed?

Thanks.

Call up NVC and ask the operator if you should or not.

So.. they're doing Jan 24th ?

:/

Does anybody think that calling three times the week actually helps ?

I've been doing that but I don't get a different answer.

This is getting a bit heartbreaking after waiting 8 months for a NOA2

The purpose of calling is to stay as up to date as possible on your case. If you don't want to call that often, then don't. Call as often as YOU want.

Thank you

That's not a big deal at all. Save a call and just mention it at the interview. It'll be fixed then (if they even bother as it's insignificant).

Are you referring to the DS-260?

And the form is filled by the beneficiary, so put their address. If they've been living in the same place their entire life, then the "from" date is their 16th birthday. The "to" date would be written as 'present'.
