I actually don't know exact date when NVC received our case, we only got a transfer note and the next after that was the notice of both fees are due and a link to the electronic payment site.

1/15 is a notice that it was send to NVC, not that they received it. Maybe I should just remove that line of it's confusing? Seems the "received" date was skipped and we just got mail from NVC that the fees are due. We got the case nr at the same time too.

Most people call NVC on a frequent basis after NOA2 approval, so they'll be told over the phone once NVC receives their case from NVC. If you wish, you can call up NVC and ask for the date that NVC received your case. Although, it's not important.

Indian PCC issued by passport office does not Indicate marriage status, I am sure the same format will be used by your PSK too.

My wife's PCC states "her name, W/o my name, holder of passport ..."

She got it from the Mumbai passport office few days before we got her NOA2. She went in with the Mumbai US consulate instruction letter that is accessible to everyone. This was because we had heard that sometimes they ask for a statement requesting a PCC from the US consulate or state department. However, she got the PCC without ever having to show any proof of her immigration application status.

My sister will be our joint sponsor, she has not filled her taxes for 2013 but she will do it next week. she has her own business and she knows she will have to pay to the IRS, my question is, does she have to pay the full amount or will NVC accept a payment agreement for the AOS?

You are done with USCIS. You will give over your email address (petitioner and beneficiary) when you call and get case#. This is the way NVC communicates with us.

if you never called them they will either use the email on your I-130 )maybe) or they will snail mail you (likely) the information which would delay you months.

So we say 1 week after approval call NVC as often as you can muster and ask for case#. They will say 8 weeks could be less could be more.

What do you mean will the NVC accept a payment agreement? The DOS doesn't care if you owe taxes or get a refund. What they care about is that you have filed and make above the minimum poverty guidelines.

Saylin, can you help me. We hired an attorney to work on our case. He asked me to fill out DS-260. How about DS-261? Do you think he did it already or he forgot? I am sure the DS-260 wouldn't be available without completing the prior forms. It's weekend so we cannot call our lawyer and I am worried so i cldn't wait. so sorry. If your lawyer filed your I-130 he would have send in the lawyer G form and the DS-261 at NVC doesn't apply to you your AOS and IV is invoiced together.

The plus side of having a lawyer. So nothing to worry about.
