Hey Everyone, I'm on vacation with my wife here in the Philippines and my wife's father told us that they have received a letter from the NVC. We won't be able to check what it is for several days, so does anyone have any idea what the NVC might send to the beneficiary? It's been about a month since they confirmed that they received our packets, so could it be about the interview?

To be honest, when I received a letter and was on vacation, I told my mom to open it. Yours could also be a checklist, but hopefully it is a case complete!

I thought about that too, but would they send the checklist to beneficiary? I would think they would be sending checklists to me, the petitioner.

Congrats on your approval! And yes, you are in the right forum. The first thing you will need to do is go to the first page of this forum and read (and re-read) posts #1 and #2 from Saylin. These posts will answer all your questions and give you an idea of the process ahead.

Hello VJers

I just sent in my AOS package, the site still shows "In Progress", but the money was debited from my bank account, so hopefully it won't be an issue.

Had a general question about the IV package. Other than whats mentioned in Saylin's Post 2 (which is extremely helpful btw so thank you Saylin), what other documents are folks sending in to "front load" the interview process? Are people sending in just whats listed in post 2, or adding additional evidence of on-going relationship?

I am hoping for a may interview as well -

our consulate is canada and they seem to book interviews 4-6 weeks after case complete. Then its time for my canadian to put in notice at work (after visa in hand, of course!) and roadtripping across the US. Which is gonna be really fun. Gonna visit friends all across the states - most of them have not met my husband, so it will be fun for them to meet

Not to put a damper on your spirits, but I'm a Canada filer as well, and it's taking them almost the full 20 business days to review AOS & IV. (You can check my sig for info) I'm hoping for a May interview too.

I am currently going to school full time using my post 9/11 GI Bill and I'm receiving $2300 a month as a housing stipend. I'm currently unemployed and wanted to know if this money would count as income. I have a letter from the VA stating what I'm receiving and when I started school. It's the weekend so the embassy in Manila is closed, where our case is currently at, so I should hear back from them next week.

Wow, I thought calling NVC this late at night I wouldn't have to be on hold for long. I was wrong, Was on hold for 25 minutes And still no Case # yet. Got the...wait 30 business days from when they received it..speech. I know I probably won't get case # for a few more weeks but I keep calling hoping it will be sooner rather than later.

waiting for the response to the checklist letter for the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864). Please return

the requested information so that we may complete the processing of your case.

When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this

letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar

code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the

address provided.

hmm.. mine is like that on the first page. I have 2 pages and on the second page it says what I need to do.
