Thanks for doing these threads Saylin, it's so handy to see everything laid out at the start of the thread. I just hope I don't need to read these NVC monthly threads for much longer! :)

Thanks Saylin for quick response....So I am writing on each document of IV package the case # with "pencil"

I know we need to write the beneficiary's name; case # and DOB on back of the 2 photos....I never been able to use a pencil on these photos :) can I use a pen?

Yes, I suggest writing the case number on the top right of all pages in both packages.

You can use what you want on the back of the photos, just make sure it doesn't leak through.

Got word today that our I129 has been forwarded to the embassy. Don't want to get my hopes up that it will be processed though, will more likely be closed as our 130 is now in NVC, just waiting on a case number. Hopefully it will go through, just want to be with my husband, whatever the cost.

Hi Saylin and everyone,

I have a question: I-864 Part 3, Family Members.

My husband is a sponsor. We have been married for 12 years. And we are currently living in Australia with two children( both US citizen). It's a bit funny question, but do we have to list them as family members? I mean, they are of course our family member smile.png and moving(going back) to the US together, but not "immigrating". As my husband is supporting them as well, I should list them on I-864..? Is it correct?

He has been working here at a local bank. At this moment, he has not got a job in the U.S(Although it's on process.). We have assets in the States we could prove. Do we have to have a joint sponsor? Someone also has questioned this before, but I'm not quite sure..

P.S. Thank you for your great job, Saylin! You are super! smile.png

Okay as USC they will not be immigrating or following to join, but they do count in the household count of the sponsor. So the USC's household count will be 4. (beneficiary, himself, 2 children.)

That means, according to the I-864P, he needs to make $29,437 per year currently, or have $88,311 in assets. So if he doesn't have that, you will need a joint sponsor. The joint sponsor will only add YOU, the beneficiary, to their household count for the poverty guidelines. For example: if he has a single guy friend who is willing to sign an I-864 for you, the household count for that I-864 would be 2 (beneficiary plus sponsor.) If it were his sister who has 4 kids and is married, it would be 7, her family plus beneficiary. Make sense? Because his job will not be continuing in the USA, he cannot include that as his current income on the I-864. It needs to be current income and the only time foreign income counts, is if the job will remain after immigration.

Someone answer me plz am I the only one that see that the payment page is down today??

There will be an outage On Pay.gov will be down tonight from 1:00am to 3:00am ET and on Saturday March 1st, from 5:30-6:30 EST. - from their website.
