I sent mine only in one package as my AOS has only one page I 864W. But I did mention attn: AOS/ CMR. I followed Saylin post.

I drove myself mad trying to figure out if i should send them together or seperate... Now i just figure they'll end up in the same place anyway :P

We are still waiting for our court records... The problem is none of the courts have the records anymore. These charges on my husbands record are old, I mean the most recent was 14 years ago and they are stupid little charges. I have two letters so far stating that his records have been destroyed and they are certified from the court. Will this be enough?? HELP.

I do not know which step I am missing but the NVC got my case on January 22nd and to date I have heard nothing from them. I have called repeatedly and the phone (603-334-0700) rings once and then disconnects. I have sent an email and have received no response as well. How else can I find out my NVC number as it has been more than 7 weeks at this time. I was not as worried as I had to wait on a UK police clearance certificate that only came last week. However, now that I have everything in hand, I am concerned that I do not have the case number as yet.

Any advice would be appreciated.

IV package sent March 6th; DS-260 completed March 6th- Please update!!

Updated! I just realized you have no timeline filled out. Please fill it out otherwise I'll remove you from the spreadsheet.

just got off the phone with NVC, told to just wait for the checklist and if its just a minor mistake it can be done at the embassy or whichever the the reviewer will ask.

and "someone" Ms. Saylin kindly update sent IV 03/04 ds260 complete 03/05

thanks so much and good morning!!

Updated ;)

Saylin,

If I (the petitioner) fill out DS-261 (choice of address and agent), do I need to indicate so on the form? i.e fill out the last section "preparer of form"?

No, no need. The parts on forms where it asks about a preparer of the form, it's referring to lawyers/attorneys/third party agents. It doesn't refer at all to petitioners no0pb.gif

Hey Saylin

So we've just found out that we just have to send in the completed 1040X (amendment) that my wife has to fill out and not wait the 8 weeks for IRS to complete the amendment. With this in mind, given the fact that NVC are currently reviewing our AOS wouldn't it be prudent to call them and let them know we have realised we made a mistake after receiving incorrect advice and send in the filled out 1040x and ask them to attach it to our file?

That way, when the interview takes place the ConOff will have it there in front of him/her.

It's either that or just not notify NVC and bring it along to the interview.

I just do not want to take any chances.

Thanks so much in advance!

I don't think calling up NVC will do anything as I doubt they themselves can do anything. If you can get the amended return before case complete, just send the new amended tax information to NVC. They'll then add it to the case file which gets sent to the embassy/consulate. If not, bring it to the interview. Honestly though, you really should be fine as you're going through the UK. It's probably second behind Montreal as an easy embassy/consulate as it's not high-fraud.

Hi Saylin

Just when I thought I had nothing left to worry about something else crops up! I saw a post earlier about filing taxes as single or married and I spoke to my wife and she has filed as single this year even though we were married! :-/

She was advised to do this by her employer because I do not currently live in the States and do not have a SSN etc.

I've read contrasting advice on this. Some posts say the consulate does not care which way you file and others say it can raise a red flag.

It's too late to change now as everything has been accepted by NVC, so I'm hoping you have some good news for me!

Are we likely to be ok?

Cheers

I also filed single on my taxes and it was processed but now I am amending my tax return. I did not see all the post until after the fact. I have now filled out the W-7 form for my husband to sign so I can resend an amended tax return.

The call disconnects because all lines are busy, just keep trying back. Literally hang up and immediately redial. Try to call early as well, right after they open. Expect it to take a couple of weeks for them to respond any time you email; getting through the phone's busy signal can be a pain, but calling really is the best way to go.

Not a good day today. If it weren't for that ****ing backlog in NBC way back when then we could have had our visa by now and I wouldn't have to be working at this show they call a "school".

Oh good god July could not get here soon enough. Even if we don't have the visa by then I'm quitting in July. I can't handle this place anymore.
