My husband, the petitioner left some fields blank on his AOS like Social Security Number for me (because I, the applicant don't have any yet).. Will we get an RFE for leaving it blank? Thanks!

I thought that only I-130 form had to be filled out completely. I-864 form should be left blank if it is not applicable to you or if you need to say "none". Even instructions state that you should leave such places blank.

K-3 visa (most likely IR1/CR1 visa) (embassy: Warsaw, Poland)

02/26/2014 I-130 and I-129F approved (!)

03/12/2014 I-129F assigned a case number (starts with "MSC" and does not work)

I got my passpost reissued now and obviously the passport number, issue and expiry dates are different . Do i need to call NVC or USCIS and ask them to update this.

The very first thing, while filing a i130 petition, was all this information(my passport details) required/given to USCIS?

Remember I130 is filed by petitioner and if you got a new passport afterwards, you can give the details in DS-260 which is filed by the beneficiary.

We did the same thing.

Also, I followed this sample: http://www.visajourney.com/examples/INS-Form-I-864.pdf.

We just need Saylin to confirm this sample can be used. :)

P.S. Thanks, Saylin, for your help and attention!

The instructions do say to leave blanks, but people sometimes get checklists for doing so. I didn't want to take any chances personally so I didn't leave any blanks.

It has been almost 6 weeks since we recieved our NOA 2.

And we are still not in the NVC system.

Are other's experiencing this delay?

I know the NVC phone agents say 8 weeks, but we really didn't think it would take this long according to the

timelines of others.

thanks.

PCOZ, the clock doesn't start ticking until the NVC RECEIVES your file. It took over two weeks for my file to travel from TSC to receipt at NVC. My NOA2 date was January 31st. But NVC didn't clock it in until mid-February. So I'm not looking for a case number until March 25th at the very earliest.

Do you know the date that NVC received your file?

AOS shows as paid on the portal this morning and my packet will arrive at NVC today dancin5hr.gif Now the long wait for them to accept and review everything.

Collie, I saw your post on my email updates but it must be a half dozen pages back by now -- what a nightmare that must've been! Thank goodness you could run right back and get the post office to add it for you. I think I would've melted into a puddle on the floor after an adrenaline rush like that.

Suffice to say, I said one or two curse words...not very appropriate coming from the HR Manager of the company :P

My fee was debited from my bank account yesterday, so hopefully will show as paid soon.

I got straight through to the NVC this morning and was only holding about 10 mins and got to talk to my friend Todd again :). He remembered talking to me and we are on first name terms now hehe. If any of y'all get to talk to him, he's a wealth of information, won't rush you and I got some tidbits of info today. There are approximately 60 phone lines at the NVC. 2000 files approximately, arrive daily at the NVC and are processed through the mail room by x-raying, testing for chemicals, and assigning a bar code and then it goes to a separate building where it is stored until requested. He said that the storage building next door to the phone center is amazing with just wall to wall files as far as the eye can see.

With regards to my Dads case number being changed, it still hasn't been and still shows as a pending request for the supervisor to do it. My AOS arrived yesterday by USPS but is still not showing in their system on their end. Likely still going through the mailroom. He said the IV fee is being invoiced approximately 5-10 days after completing the DS-261. There has been a backlog but they are getting through it now.

I would love to follow a case file from USCIS all the way through the NVC to the embassy just to see how it is processed. I think it would be interesting.

hello,

I had a question about emailing the I-864 and the supporting documents and IV package and the supporting documents via email. Can you scan the I-864 and the supporting documents into one fine and send it or each document (ie. each supporting document) separately. Also does this apply to the IV package

And\ do you scan and send the photos?, do you need to send in the back of one photo as it need the info on the back?

Thank you

Bahaha! I'm sure you'll get a pass given the circumstances happy.png

I'm glad you've been speaking to nice folks at NVC, I've been surprised to read so many tales of rudeness lately. Everyone has been very pleasant to me so far. I'm relieved to hear they're working through the backlog, that's fantastic news! Interesting to hear about NVC's inner workings as well, for some reason I never imagined the xray and chemical scan process. Your thought on following a case file through its journey makes me think of "I'm Just a Bill" from Schoolhouse Rock. Admittedly, "I'm Just an Immigrant Visa" doesn't have quite the same ring to it laughing.gif But it would be interesting!
