Thank you! Haven't been thinking of Skype, gonna try it!

Skype works well and should be much cheaper. There are also other over the internet (vop) calling sites as well. I have only used Skype. Good luck

I am hoping its just a false check list. I am really interested in knowing why was it generated b/c my parents did the same as well. I believe you should call NVC ASAP. I havent recieved civil docs from my parents yet, but I think my father said that they gave him a paper as well as stamped his passport, did you send a copy of both papers. Again, I havent seen what my parents have, so thsi is just a guess.

I called NVC and the lady told me there is nothing to respond to...just that this often gets generated prior to IV being reviewed as a reminder that it is required or a reminder that it may need to be updated before the interview.

She said it was because they are waiting for my AOS checklist response and will review the IV package after that response is received.

I am going to call again today though to see if I get the same answer.

did you call NVC for that? wow 5 weeks is really a loooong time for an IV bill. hope we don't need to wait that long.

Ms. Saylin would it have a problem if I didn't put my husbands complete name on my DS-261. its just his first and last name.

i call everyday, since its more than 1 month,

they have different answers everyday, but the most common is that they have backlog, and too many petitions getting sent to NVC,

wait for few more days,

so tired of this nonsense.

Hi yes I had a lawyer. I fired him because once my IV and AOS bills were ready to pay he wanted me to wait for a week to speak with him. Then he wanted me to send him all the docs another week. He would have delayed this by a Month. Reading posts on VJ and Saylin process I thought I should it by myself and I took control. I don't have a finalized divorcee decree as I left US before my divorce. I am a beneficiary of VAWA. I sent a LOE regarding my inability to send decreee

Yes both were billed at the same time...

Sorry to hear about your situation.

Glad you took control of what the lawyer was messing up.

Not sure if firing him was all that necessary.

I have a feeling that your spouse may or may not have filed for a divorce after you left the country.

You need some legal advice to be able to decide whether or not you should procure a divorce decree via tools like vitalCheck etc

I dont know what the NVC expects with VAWA (and you have to anticipate what the embassy expects as well).

Maybe reach out to another attorney for a one time consultation and get THESE TWO things sorted out.

My guess is that you'll need some sort of documentation to prove your separation in both places.

Aren't they all like that.

I got a particularly rude one asking me what the meaning of "30 business days" was.

It actually now makes me (and I am going to) call them everyday.

i was legitimately thinking it was a part of the process to verify the caller. she could have just said no it's not here yet :)

Hi all, we just got approved on Wednesday. :) Quick couple of questions about sending in paystubs and relationship evidence: 1. How many months of paystubs is recommended? and 2. When I send in the additional relationship evidence does it have to include copies of the same evidence I initially sent in to USCIS, or do they forward everything over to the NVC? Thanks!
