At the stage you're at, it's just best to bring the updated tax transcripts to the interview. And you probably don't even need to mention it as I doubt the officers at the UK will care, but if they do, you'll have them on hand to give over.

And no, if it does come up, just explain you were wrongly informed to file single. But you caught the mistake and amended it.

Ok great thanks very much.

One two more questions, do NVC run any checks with IRS on tax returns. For example would they run a check and then see that we've made an amendment and wonder why?

So you definitely recommend getting it changed either way? It can do more good than harm, right?

It has been almost 6 weeks since we recieved our NOA 2.

And we are still not in the NVC system.

Are other's experiencing this delay?

I know the NVC phone agents say 8 weeks, but we really didn't think it would take this long according to the

timelines of others.

thanks.

We're in Poland - my husband and I. Calling US is crazy expensive, that's why i wanted to contact them by email.

Hi! There was someone else with the same problem a while back. You may want to research apps out there that allow you to make the calls, in expensively or for free. MagicJack was one cited back then, you may want to try it.

I personally don't call often. Actually I don't call at all, my husband does! He's more patient and polite than i, so it better that way for us :) Anyway, we call at key moments, when we're expect something to happen. So, since case received we called once a week, just to check, knowing we probably wouldn't have any news.

My case has been approved and sent to NVC on February 12th.

How can i get my case number and IIN without calling NVC?

Does it make sense to contact them or should i wait longer?

Will they respond to an email?

Yes they will respond in an email but not instantly. Allow them to review your email for about a week and then send it thrice. I did it.

Yay! We finally got our NVC case receipt number in just under 30 business days! Our case was received by the NVC on January 27 and I honestly think this was the most stressful part of the immigration process so far. We still don't have a IIN yet, though. So I guess only half of the stress is gone.

Great, thanks again! sorry just for clarification, if we do made the amendment now that can't have any negative bearing on our case right? The thing that worries me is NVC is currently reviewing our AOS stuff and if we get a new tax return they will technically be reviewing a document that has been replaced. Or does that not matter as long as everything is in order at the interview with the new return in hand if it is brought up?

Thanks again, and sorry to be a pest!

Well, I can't say for 100% sure there's no negative bearing; you'd be surprised what some COs come up with. But like I said, going through UK isn't like going through Nigeria or some other MENA country.

If you want, wait until NVC has accepted the AOS package, then start the amendment process.

So I got the checklist I was expecting for my AOS packages, but it seems they didn't catch everything...

After I submitted my AOS packages for both my wife and stepson, I realized I made a mistake by entering the wrong income information for question 13 on the I-864. So, I decided to be proactive by sending a corrected I-864 for both wife and stepson.

After I did this, I found ANOTHER mistake. I realized I entered my (petitioner) information for "Mailing Address" and "Other Information" under Part 2, Information on the Principal Immigrant.

HOWEVER, the checklist I received today for both my I-864 forms only calls out my first mistake. I wonder if I should call and tell them about the second mistake, otherwise they'd have my wife and stepson with the same exact birthdate and A-number as me content.gifdry.pngrolleyes.gifhuh.png

... and I just got off the phone with the NVC. First thing I asked was if they had received my AOS and IV packages. They received three packages from me: Feb 18, Feb 26, and Mar 5 (both cases). I'm assuming the first is my original AOS package, the second my "corrected" I-864, and then my IV package.

I then asked about the other mistake I made but that they didn't catch... lady just said to wait for the package to be reviewed? OK no0pb.gif
