Also, they told me that no electronic processing is available for Mexican citizens (my husband is from/living in Mexico now). Is this going to slow things down a lot?

If the first 3 letters of your case number are MEP, then the person who told you that electronic processing was unavailable for Mexico would be incorrect. If a case number starts with MEP, then electronic processing would be required.

Hello all,

So we received the NOA2 on Jan. 13th, 2013. NVC received our petition on Feb. 6th.

Still no case number.

Should we be worried?

I called NVC yesterday. Finally got thru' in the evening about 6:15 PST. The lady informed me that it is taking about 30 working days (or 6 weeks) from the NVC receipt date for issuing the Case #.

Quickest is by phone. I called every 2 to 3 days, some call every day. No, they do not respond to emails.

question... what does this mean? does this mean after interview where will the visa be delivered in united sates and where to pick up or will it be in Kiev us embassy?

If you register online, after entering your information you will be prompted to select a TNT location to which you would like to have your visa delivered. Please make sure that you print out your confirmation letter and bring it with you to the visa appointment. If you register through the Call Center, you will receive a confirmation of TNT courier selection by e-mail. You must print it out and bring it with you for your appointment. The U.S. Embassy will not be able to process your visa application until you make a selection of a TNT destination where the visa can be delivered. There is no additional cost for delivery of your visa. Please make sure that you register before you come to the Embassy, otherwise your appointment may have to be rescheduled.

Hi! I don't know if you email they'll answer. I haven't done that.

The reason why it's advisable to call them is because you find out at what stage your case is more quickly. Eventually you'll get the information by mail. But you can expedite your process if you call them, because you will know where your case is. Besides gives us something to do besides waiting :)

So, for example, our NOA2 was 1/24. We called and found out our case was received on 2/4. We'll probably get our numbers mid-March. We're now getting all docs ready, especially the time sensitive ones. When we get the numbers, they're ready to be mailed and we don't waste time. Now, if we were to wait for NVC or our lawyer, we'd be hearing only mid-March and then would delay 2 weeks to a month to get the paperwork ready and on my husband's hands!

Calling is something you choose to do or not.

First of all you should be calling NVC to find out when (and if) they received your case from USCIS. Once you know when NVC received it, count about 30 working days for getting your Case # etc. Again, you should start calling them after about 15 ~20 working days (from NVC receipt date) to get your Case #, Invoice Identification # and also to provide them with your email ID and beneficiary email ID.

Also, have you read Ms Saylin's first two posts at the beginning of this thread. I actually printed them out and kept them next to my computer. They are immensely helpful.

I haven't read through all the posts, so I'm sure someone has already commented on how outrageously backed up the NVC is right now. My husband and I submitted our AOS and IV documents on 1-31 and 2-4 respectively. The online IV app was completed on 2-3 and the IV and AOS bills were paid prior to completing all the documents. My husband just called to check in with the NVC again and the rep said they haven't even opened the packages that we mailed! cray5ol.gif

I was too nervous to send the packet before the payment cleared, getting mail from Boston to Portsmouth NH takes no time at all! I would hand-deliver everything if they let me, make some new best friends up at NVC biggrin.png Having the AOS done feels amazing though... now here's hoping they don't leave us hanging for a month before invoicing the IV!
