Thank you to all who put so much work into this.

We received I-130 petition approval and are now awaiting the beginnings of the NVC process. My question is this, in our I-130 I included everything but the kitchen sink: mine and my spouses' birth certificate, all pages of our passports, joint bank statement, original 'copy' of our marriage license, photos of us through the years, cards, affidavits of bona fide marriage, two each passport photos, and evidence of travel for us both.

My question is, as part of the NVC stage will I need to resubmit much of this documentation again (birth certificate, marriage license, passport pages, etc) or will my entire package make its' way though the bowls of NVC and thus all my pre-work pay off?

Hi! I suggest you check at your embassy's website for the documents they expect you to bring. Maybe they're listed there. At least, the consulate in Rio lists the in the order they'll be needed, if needed. I'm supposed to bring a coot of the AOS packet. There's also an interview thread you may want to check on VJ.

Just checking in.. NVC received our case Jan 24 and just today March 5 we got case numbers. My husband and I are feeling very flat about it all, every step for us seems to be taking the longest possible time. I'm dreading getting to the point where it's time to have my interview scheduled. So afraid that it'll be something like another 10 week wait or something..

Has anyone noticed how quick Sydney are scheduling interviews? When I look at the charts it really doesn't look like good news..

Hi jajaju, I just went to US consulate Sydney for renewing my daughter's US passport two days ago. I said we are on a process getting Green Card, and asked that question. A nice lady at the visa section said once our files arrive at the consulate from NVC, it would be quick. They are not busy. :)

you are correct. patience is very important in this process. 100% agreed.

But please also understand that as humans we tend to break down and get frustrated with the system. In this age of technology, it should really not take 1-2 years for the whole process. they should improve this system. hire more staff and invest in better resources.

Also we are not waiting for a few weeks, we are waiting for months and months and there seems no end to this.

This is the end. It is a few weeks for each section. The last few months and you are active vs sitting on your thumbs. A year? two years? I would have gone through a lot more for my spouse. He is my soulmate. In a lifetime, it is nothing.

I get where you're at, I was there.

The system IS flawed but has made improvements. Before sept 1 you had to send everything via paperwork and now you can fill out the visa application online.

There are always petitions to sign to ask for help to improve the system. Better than complaining at the one person who is trying her heart out to help people IMHO. But this is the last I will post on the subject. I hope everyone gets to see their loved ones soon. Dueces.

Agreed that they made the system online instead of paperwork. But what is the point of making it online if it takes 6 weeks to get a case number, 4 weeks to get the invoice bill. Where is the efficiency now ?

Let people vent out. Its the least they can do. cray5ol.gif

They are allowed to vent out their frustrations but they should also know who they are directing it to. If you have something to say kindly direct it to the appropriate authorities not your fellow visa journey members. She is just helping us out. Adios

every step of this journey has been terrible.. from the start of the uscis to the approval, to the shipping to nvc to the case number to the aos packet and the ds 261 filing. now still waiting on ds 260 and iv fee to become invoiced. this is outrageous and absolutely ridiculous. i should have just filed DCF or brought my husband on visiting visa... i will never suggest this to anyone. it is the worst government institution. they are always giving excuses after excuses now nvc is saying we are just so busy... bull #######!!! get a handle with the people that have been waiting for 1 year!!!! UGH!!!!!!!!!!

I'm with ya sista! Can't understand how a one page online form with my husband's details on takes a month to "process"... Very down week this week, feel like we are stuck in mud every step of the way.

I have a question, I was approved March 3 from California. I know its hard to estimate how long could take to get an interview in Montreal, I have a planned trip for one week at the end of June. We're in the same boat. Getting NOA2 was an incredibly happy moment, but NVC just hasn't had the same effect. Each little step forward comes with a brief moment of relief but the feeling burns off so fast. I keep reminding myself that the end is in sight, but having gone through so much already, we're just worn out. What's keeping me going right now is the British invasion I have occurring on Monday dancin5hr.gif With a little luck we may be able to mail off the IV packet together, which would be a nice way to come full circle, seeing as we mailed the I-130 together. Just can't wait to be done!

A couple of verification questions on I-864:

1. What is the Alien Registration Number in Part 1, Item 5? Is this the one printed on NOA2 for I-130? What if we have two Alien Registration Numbers (one on NOA2 for I-130 form and one on NOA2 for I-129F form - both forms were approved at the same time)?

2. If it just the petitioner and the beneficiary, Item 7 of Part 3 should state "1", Item 1 of Part 5 should state "1" and Item 2 of Part 5 should state "1", and then Item 8 of Part 5 should state "2", right?

3. Item 3 of Part 5 should be left blank, right?

4. If the petitioner is sending all three recent tax returns/transcripts, then we do not have to check Item 13 of Part 6, right?

5. In Part 6 "Sponsor's Income and Employment", if the petitioner is the only sponsor and his income qualifies, only one item should be completed, Item 5, where the current income is specified. The rest of Part 6 should be left empty, right?

6. How should the name be "printed" in the end of the document? Can it be done electronically or only by hand?

7. Even though page 9 of the form (Part 9) has not been applicable, we still have to include this empty part in the completed form package, right?

Thanks so much for your confirmations!

Just a little PSA to shed light on many who don't understand all the delays and why 20, 30 40 days to review.

Just to be fair. Multiply your petition times about 10,000. There are currently 500,000 active I-130 stand- alone pettions at service centers which approve about 3000 to 4,000 per center a month and they go to NVC, Now obviously there isn't a person for every petition when iy gets to NVC. So just imagine.

We would all like be believe we are the only ones filing a petition and that we are special (well you are but they don't seem to get that. luv.gif ). But fact is fact then you throw in weather and, what if i started looking at your case and now I am sick, or missing or arrested or whatever. Stuff happens. In this journey you must be patient and understand, its never personal they don't know you.

Think of your poor VJ mates here from Egypt some waiting since September for interviews, They been done. Case Complete. Just Imagine. Just hold on you will get there people. Breathe, Breathe. It's all well. goofy.gif

When it takes 4-6 weeks to get case number, 4-6 weeks to get the invoices and another 4-6 weeks for review, add to it the misery of fake checklists and getting case complete, definitely all is not well. ClockWatch2.gif
