Hi Saylin,

Thanks for answering. It helps a lot.

So for some reason my dad's old company is gone and they didn't put him in w4 so no w2. Anyway, my parents will be filing tax jointly and all together total is 31,500. Do they have to send my wife the updated I-864 from my dad and I-864A from my mom, or the copy that we already have, the one we send the NVC. NVC has already approved the AOS and added to the case file though.

I was under the impression that Mexico was required to EP. However, my case number starts with CDJ, and it doesn't appear under the "mandatory" category for EP. Does this mean it's optional for my case or should I mail everything in?

Ok here we go again, another checklist...this time for the IV Package. I know I've seen someone post this exact thing, but doing a VJ search only yields results from 2010 & 2011. I can't find the one that was on the monthly threads here.

______10 - PASSPORT POLICE CERTIFICATE:____________________________
Indian Police Clearance Certificates should be obtained as follows:
• All Indian IV applicants aged 16 and above, residing in India, should obtain police
certificates from the local Passport Office.
• Indian passport holders applying for visas outside India should obtain a statement from their
local embassy or consulate confirming they have no criminal record.
• Non-Indian IV applicants residing in India should obtain police certificates from the District
Police Station serving their area of residence.
• Indian police certificates are not available for foreign (non-Indian) applicants applying
outside India.
[J8B 03/05/2014]
My husband's original (plus 1 copy) PCC was included in the IV Package we sent. It was obtained from the Passport Seva Kendra. It is not local police. It is dated Dec. 19, 2013. So it is not more than 6 months old.
Is this a false checklist? Should I call them? Why would they issue this if the PCC was included in the package?

Actually you're incorrect.

In Canada, while the petition for a partner living outside Canada may only take 30-120 days, the other part, the visa application part, can take months to years. For the USA the minimum time is 20 months. Within Canada it takes a minimum of 6 months for the petition and another 8-12 months for the visa application.

I know others from other European countries are moving to the USA because the visa process is easier towards the USA than to their home country.

The US visa process used to take 3-4 years for a spouse, now it's only 1-2. If you can't wait for a few weeks for your spouse, who CAN you wait for? But hey, if complaining on here, where everyone has gone through this process and we're here specifically to help you, makes you feel better by all means have at it. You may find yourself short of listeners quickly however.

Saylin really is a saint to do these monthly threads.

My mistake, I was referring to the Australian spousal visa.

Europe and Australia - not Europe and Canada.

Its not a question of a few weeks - its a matter of what is or isnt efficient process.

"Who CAN you wait for" -- is an incredibly bold and pompously arrogant question to ask.

The relationship that I have with my spouse and my government is none of your business.

Nobody asked you to listen to anything. There are plenty of posts on here that are not concerned with reforming the system and make it workable.

And P.S. if you're from a country that is about 7-8 hours of flying distance away AND you get VWP - and its not that hard to go see your spouse every couple of months -- that does NOT apply to everyone.

For some of us, we have to put up with excessive security checks, useless bureaucracy at our consulates, racism by COs and in some cases inexplicable denials. We don't all go to Montreal where you breeze through the system.

ok another confusion on AOS. husband sponsoring me & 2 minor.

P3 L1 YES sponsoring principal immigrant (1)

P3 L2 sponsoring ff fmly members at d same time (2)

P3 L7 total# sponsoring (3)

HERES THE PART I GOT CONFUSED

P5 L1 #entered in line 7 (3)

Persons not sponsored in this affidavit

L2 yourself (husband) (1)

L3 if married enter "1" (1)

L8 add together line 1-7 (5) spouse is counted twice (P5 L1 & L3)

how do oi get thru this. pls help smile.png

You do not put a 1 in the L3 married option, as the spouse is one of the immigrants (See where it says 'Persons not sponsored in this affidavit').

I've read that here in the NVC forums in past months.

"If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you."

"Life is not what it's supposed to be. It's what it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference."

So if I am adding some evidence "photos/bank receipts etc" with my IV package, how do I attach them? Do I put separate envelope for each and write down on each envelope [PHOTOS] ; [other Docs...] and include the required docs. Can we use paper clip?

Just to get an idea what others have done..Thanks in advance

Congrats!? I hope ours this week or next week. Ugh... Did you have any checklists before? We had. Regarding our AOS. We sent the corrected one last feb 18. Still waiting... sad.png

hello what was your checklist?

Posted

We're on the same boat sad.png and my husband already filed ITR2013 which he filed single . But he already amend his status from single to MFJ.. The preparer was the one who put MFJ . My husband insist that we need ITIN but the preparer told him that he just only need my signature .. Better to call IRS then sad.png

hi what waas your checklist?

Posted

Just checking in.. NVC received our case Jan 24 and just today March 5 we got case numbers. My husband and I are feeling very flat about it all, every step for us seems to be taking the longest possible time. I'm dreading getting to the point where it's time to have my interview scheduled. So afraid that it'll be something like another 10 week wait or something..

Has anyone noticed how quick Sydney are scheduling interviews? When I look at the charts it really doesn't look like good news..
