I have some questions regarding the Affidavit of Support, we file I-864EZ btw:

1.) When filling I-130 i wrote "none" at the SSN field. I actually do have a SSN from when I was an Au Pair 5 years ago. We also checked with the USCIS because my husband is about to file his 2013 taxes MFJ and they said its still my number and i can use it. So now im wondering if we should use it on the I-864EZ? And if we should explain why i had "no" number before or if it doesnt matter?

2.) Also the I-864EZ can be filed by hand right? Because there doesnt seem to be a Bar Code on there?

Thanks in advance!

1. Yes, if you had a SSN, then use it on the forms. No need to explain. If it comes up at the interview, just explain you didn't know. Simple as that.

2. It can be either filled out on the computer or by hand. Up to you.

I'd suggesting explaining both in the cover letter as well as including a copy of the email correspondence from the embassy.

Since the DS-261 is to be filled out by the beneficiary, so yes.

And no, the BIN is a different number from the IIN.

You didn't exactly finish your question there. What's the average after case received to what exactly? To case number? Refer to my spreadsheet and crunch the numbers yourself.

Congrats! And glad to know you actually read the first 2 posts (some people seem to skip this step) wink.png And that it actually helped in preventing a checklist smile.png

Saylin help help hehe. Do you have any advice to this persons question? They asked here but with all ya'll posting (You guys have been quite chatty last two months LOL.

I am not sure to answer.

IV processing fee status changed to PAID and DS-260 became available. Submitted DS-260 promptly after struggling a little with addresses. The address field does not accept '/' as in 123/4 had to substitute it with '-' as in 123-4 before I could save the addresses. Mailed IV packet by express mail. CEAC website says 2 to 4 weeks from date of receipt of IV packet for review. One more step closer to the visa!

Hey, broken record here! We filled in our choice of agent form on 7th Feb and still our IV fees have not been invoiced. Called NVC three times and they are no help, just keep saying to wait. Are others in the same position or are we an anomaly? What is the hold up? Thanks

This is getting ridiculous. last week they said 10 biz days after DS-261 submission to get IV fee invoice. Now they say 10 to 15 biz days.

next week they will say 15 to 20 biz days. JUST PATHETIC!!!!! ranting33va.gif

What can we expect from a government department - it takes 20 business days to review a one page on line filed document and 2 weeks to respond to opt-in email.

Holidays + weather closures = backlog

Time frames are going to be considerably longer right now for all steps.

Gotcha. I went and research (I am sure they aren't paying me at work to do this). And answered him.

Just a little PSA to shed light on many who don't understand all the delays and why 20, 30 40 days to review.

Just to be fair. Multiply your petition times about 10,000. There are currently 500,000 active I-130 stand- alone pettions at service centers which approve about 3000 to 4,000 per center a month and they go to NVC, Now obviously there isn't a person for every petition when iy gets to NVC. So just imagine.

We would all like be believe we are the only ones filing a petition and that we are special (well you are but they don't seem to get that. luv.gif ). But fact is fact then you throw in weather and, what if i started looking at your case and now I am sick, or missing or arrested or whatever. Stuff happens. In this journey you must be patient and understand, its never personal they don't know you.

Think of your poor VJ mates here from Egypt some waiting since September for interviews, They been done. Case Complete. Just Imagine. Just hold on you will get there people. Breathe, Breathe. It's all well. goofy.gif
