Almost ;) I'll be creating the April thread later today, once I get home from work

Hello Saylin. This time I have no question. hehehehe I only just want to say thank you so much. Wish you and your lovedones all the best in your life. Have a great day! :)) You are an angel sent to us.

D'aww, thanks :luv:

You have a great day too!

I also had a similar issue with taxes. You do not need a ITIN if you are filing Married filing Separately. However, you cannot file the taxes electronically and your tax lady has to write in NRA herself. I also had to walk my tax lady through the process since she was not familiar with it.

You, the sponsor, will use the I-864. Your husband is the joint sponsor, and either fills out the I-864, or the I-864A if you filed taxes jointly.

Lakehouse, Yes we filed taxes jointly. So we will use I-864A RIGHT? I just wanna make it sure.. thanks so much!

Based on other case completes and the current average time to get out of NVC with no checklists, I'm looking at the week of April 7 as realistic. ~2 weeks for IV review from date scanned at NVC seems pretty standard right now. That, of course, won't stop me from calling tonight to check in

That has been the trend so far, however case completes last week really encouraged me!

DS-260 was available today so submitted... but I didn't realize that the passport photos included for the IV packet sent last week had to be 51mm x 51mm until I clicked on the links after the application was submitted.

When I saw "passport photos" in the NVC instructions my mind defaulted to the rectangular type. Now I see the instructions in the guide here also say 2"x 2". I have to rush and get her to mail a new set of photos to the NVC.

Btw, is there an VJ anonymous thread anywhere; I am seriously addicted

For real! We will have a start of thread of VJers who are done, but still end up mysteriously calling NVC out of habit. lol

Its actually kind of cool, since I have now been through most of the process, I feel more confident in helping other people out. Since people have been so helpful to me, I look forward to continuing to contribute in what ways I can for a while...you know, to wean me off my VJ addiction post visa :)

I'm quietly hoping we have a shot at case complete at the end of this week, because then we'd also have a shot at a May interview date. They haven't started scheduling them yet. It's going to be brutal to get case complete right after this interview scheduling window and then have to wait all the way until the end of April to get a date :clock: But that's why I figured I'll call tonight, see if they can confirm if either the IV app or civil docs have been reviewed. I'm basically expecting case complete by mid-April and willing to be pleasantly surprised. It's not out of the question, but not likely enough to get excited about I think.

Me too! I remember feeling so incredibly overwhelmed (still get that feeling...) but now I feel like I could go through most of this with my eyes closed. I have a friend here in CR who wants to move back to the USA with his family and he asks me at least once a week about the process. So happy to pay it forward :)

Oh man, I'm like a month behind you guys (maybe more if I get checklists) and I was hoping for a May interview. I guess we'll hope for June then? We're planning on leaving in July, so as long as my husband has the visa in his passport and passport in his hand by July we'll be set. :)

Ooh, yeah, May interviews will be booked and done within the next week or two. If you get a case complete during April you should be able to swing a June interview though :) That's what we were hoping for initially, so right now it seems pretty certain we can count on June. We're just so close to finishing, can't help but fantasize about May!
