Hi Saylin,

I read your DS-260 sample cover letter. This line doesn't make sense to me:

"Scanned copies of documents submitted are exact copies of unaltered documents and I understand that I will be required to submit original documents to an Immigration or Consular officer at the interview."
Can you explain it? Another thing is the cover letter is dated 2011, is this an old cover letter needing changes since 2011? Also, I know you told previously that both the AOS and IV packages can be sent together and also I think I read that both are processed at separate departments, so how to send them together?

Those doing EP only scan documents and send them via email, but they must bring originals to the Interview.

"If you are not willing to learn, no one can help you. If you are determined to learn, no one can stop you."

"Life is not what it's supposed to be. It's what it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference."

Sent mine on the 6th NVC got it in their system or it showed as received on the 12th.

NVC told me on the phone they got it on the 12th. Them telling you can't tell until it is complete is made up.

Did you do Electronic Processing? It is actually easier to track by snail mail because you have tracking info and files have to be scanned, but for EP there is nothing to scan and they review it as is, at least this is what I have been told on the phone :(

Question,

Can I request a supervisor review at NVC stage for my I-129F? I have a case # for it but it has been there for two now and it should have been sent to the embassy already.

The answer I'm getting from customer service is:"undergoing admin. processing, no time frame". Thanks

Thanks for your reply. The hubby and I discussed and we took the gamble and emailed my AOS packet today. When I receive the ENROLL acceptance from NVC I will call to see if they have received the AOS that I emailed today. If the didn't receive it then I will just resend the AOS to them. Just hoping this one squeaks by LOL. We've all waited long enough, no sense making us wait any longer. I thought EP was supposed to speed things up. If it takes them two weeks to accept and send acceptance for ENROLL before emailing packets to them, I could snail mail the AOS package to them in half that time.

I agree! EP is not really saving any time at NVC stage. But snail mail is really not an option for us. So for better or for worse, we are stuck in EP. And I have no timeline to compare for getting the GZO numbers and Gus couldnt even tell us how long...We ll just wait and see.

Oh yeah, Saylin, pls update my info on the spreadsheet.

IV package sent 3/26.

Thanks!

I am guessing you are using the following link to access the DS-260 form: https://ceac.state.gov/iv/

It should take you to the log in page, from where after you enter the Case # and IIN, you should be on your Summary page which looks like this for me now.

Since I have started completing the DS-260 it shows up as view/edit.

Hi, my husband's tax preparer filed his taxes as "married filing jointly (MFJ)," and under the SSN he wrote "applied for." I don't know if he applied for the ITIN or not.

you would have had to include a W7 in order to actually be applying for an ITIN.

my accountant put down "applied for" as well and I filed (MFS)

Quick question regarding the DS-260: I am trying to go through and get all the answers I might need to fill in. I was discussing previous addresses with my husband. We have until age 21 clearly defined because he moved into the city, but before that, he was in a very rural area so there are no house numbers or street names. He could only tell me general neighborhoods/regions of the city. Is that going to be a problem with NVC if there is something that general listed as an address?

I am the petitioner (USC). My husband is Senegalese.

Just get it as close as you can....

I got that advice from an immigration lawyer. My husband had a similar issue as to how to find and identify his addresses so far back, especially in a more rural area. We were on google maps trying to track down street names / Rural Roads even just a postal code, anything! We did not have any problems on the DS-260. We just tried our best...

If it is not enough information or they want more detail, they will send you a checklist to let you know.

Im trying to prepare all the documents for the IV Package. Question, I went onto the country specific document site and does anyone know if I need everything that is written down? Like I know that Military or Divorce Records you only need to obtain when you have them of course. So for the German stuff it says now Certificate of Residence, which I could get, but I dont know if i need it. Is there anyone that went through Frankfurt and already sent the IV package?
