It may be because it was all in French. When I ordered my Quebec birth certificate online, I got it in English. Had no problems at NVC or the consulate.

That was my thought, but French is an official language as Canada, obviously. Doesn't make sense that that would be the problem, but I suppose we could try to order her a new one in English, if that's possible.

11/7/2013 Received DS-3032 / I-864 Bill
11/11/2013 Paid I-184 Bill
11/18/2013 Paid IV Application Processing Fees
03/03/2014 DS-260 was submitted online
03/03/2014 Submitted supporting documentation for I-864 and DS-260 (IV Package and AOS supporting documentation)
03/19/2014 Received receipt e-mails stating the documents for both I-864 and DS-260 had been attached to the case. Stated to wait up to 20 business days for processing
03/26/2014 Received a checklist regarding the birth certificate. This was previously provided in an email. Investigating what was wrong with the birth certificate.
03/26/2014 Called the NVC and was told this was likely because we accidentally submitted a "short form" birth certificate rather than a "long form", but we knew that wasn't the case.
03/26/2014 Wife called back to NVC and they told her that it was because the form was "too decorative". The lady on the phone told her to wait 25 days as she'll forward it to a supervisor.
04/04/2014 Email received with a CASE COMPLETE notification and P4 interview letter.
05/21/2014 Scheduled Interview Date.
5/21/2014 VISA APPROVED!!!!
07/04/2014 Sent renewed passport to Montreal consulate for visa placement due to old passport expiring.
07/18/2014 Visa status set to "Issued" on CEAC website.
09/29/2014 Entry to the United States.

09/12/2016 I-751 Filed to California Service Center
09/16/2016 I-751 NOA1 Recieved, Green Card Extended 1 Year
10/13/2016 Biometrics screening completed

I am seeing yellow triangle against my IV fees since yesterday evening but I can't pay anything or nothing comes up when I click the pay link. I wonder how long does it rand for them to upload the file or that link to actually show the amount to be paid?

04/19/2013: NOA1 for both parents

11/26/2013: Transferred to California Service Center

01/14/2014: Reply to RFE Received by CSC

01/28/2014: Email Update/Txt Received for Approval

03/19/2014: Paid AOS online (one payment for both cases)

03/22/2014: Sent AOS Packages to NVC (separately for each parent)

03/24/2014: AOS Packages delivered to NVC (as per the USPS Tracking)

03/27/2014: IV Fees Available and Paid Online

04/05/2014: IV Documents sent to NVC

04/06/2014: DS260 submitted online

04/07/2014: IV Documents delivered to NVC

05/01/2014: AOS Approved

05/29/2014: Case Complete !!!

06/11/2014: Interview Letter Received via email

I know it's the official language, but I've seen people get checklists for either not providing the document in English or include translations. You can always call NVC and request to speak with a supervisor. See what they say (make sure you ask if it's because it's in French and not English).

In the meantime, it'd still be good to order an English copy of the birth certificate in case she ever needs it when she moves to the US. Americans don't exactly speak French :P

I know that a police clearance certificate has to be sumbmitted for the NVC stage but will the embassy request a second one from me before the interview? :sleepy:

Never knew we were missing so much, sorry! I tried to add as best I could from the emails I had from NVC along with clarification on the other things you asked.

As a side note: My wife called back to the NVC and they told her it was because it was too decorative despite it actually being a long form birth certificate. The lady then proceeded to tell her that she would forward it to a supervisor which will delay the case 30 business days and to wait 25 days before calling back.

If that isn't a punch in the gut...

We have only one day difference between our case complete. I will keep an eye on your timeline when the Interview is scheduled? There are few openings in April at New Delhi Embassy but I don't think Ii will get scheduled for April..

Its not possible to get a date in April. It was possible if your case complete was in february.

Hello!
Our case was received at NVC 02/18 and the case number was assigned last Friday, 03/21.
Yesterday (03/25) we were able to submit the payment online for the AOS and the IV. @Saylin, could you please update our info on the NVC Processing Time Spreadsheet? Thank you :)

Also, yesterday, our lawyer has dissolved our legal partnership (because we called NVC to get some updates without asking him first...). So we are on our own now! As we officially had a lawyer when the AOS and IV fees were invoiced, we did not complete the DS-261. We emailed NVC to remove our lawyer's name and declare my husband as the agent. No news yet from NVC.

Do you think we could have mess things up by paying already without official agent? Will we have to complete a DS261 and, if yes, should we wait for it to be accepted to send our packages?

Finally, random question : our "lawyer" once told us we should send more relationship proofs with the IV package. During our final call yesterday, he told me the contrary. I am confused..! So : no more proofs or more proofs??

what the flip! My Dad's IV fee was showing a triangle for days and now its back to the padlocked sign! :wow: There are some weird things happening lately over there with their technology.

I-130 for both parents

March 28th 2013 - Priority date/ NOA 1
November 14th 2013 - Transferred to Nebraska Service Center

January 7th 2014 - Case changed online to approved for both

January 8th 2014 - case changed to shipped to NVC

January 9th 2014 - case changed to NOA 2 mailed

January 10th 2014 - Received the hardcopy of the NOA 2 stating that NVC would issue a case number in 30 days approx.

January 21st 2014 - Case Received at NVC

February 26th 2014 - Case numbers and IIN number received - Wrong embassy code assigned...now waiting for new case numbers.

March 3rd 2014 - Filled in DS-261 for both parents

March 5th 2014- AOS available, paid and submitted AOS packet.

March 6th 2014 - USPS shows packet was delivered at NVC

March 10th 2014 - AOS shows as paid in the CEAC portal/AOS logged into system as being received by NVC.

March 11th 2014 - New case number assigned for my Dad.

March 20th 2014 - Paid IV fee for my Mum.

March 25th 2014 - AOS accepted by NVC with no checklist.

March 26th 2014 - Filled in and submitted DS-260 for my Mum

March 31st 2014 - AOS found in my Mum's file for my Dad - accepted and placed into his file/IV fee available for my Dad and Paid.

April 1st - Mailed all civil documents to NVC for both parents.

April 3rd: IV fee shows as paid in portal/submitted DS-260 for my Dad.

April 22nd: checklist issued for civil documents - NVC error ...

April 23rd: sent another certified copy of my marriage certificate

April 24th: Case complete! :)

April 30th 2014 - Medical scheduled for parents at Knightsbridge in London

June 11th: Interview at London Embassy - Approved :)
