Letter from Embassy arrived interview date 17 april. For K3

Love my Tico, can I use it, can I stop now temporary the cr-1

did you already start the process with the I-130? I am not positive, but once you start that pprocess you cannot proceed with the K3. its strange that they sent the letter from embassy. it goes to show they don't communicate with each other. Are you able to call the embassy and speak to them directly? Or send an email? In my experience, the NVC customer service people are not well informed about what happens with the K3. They are programmed to tell you that the K3 closes once they log in the I-130 and find out there is another file with your name on it.

Each Embassy is different. Call the embassy and explain your situation and ask if you are still able to proceed. Worst case is that you wasted money paying the I-130 fees and then you have to pay the Visa fee for the K3. Not a big deal in my opinion if it means you can pursue the K3 and be together faster.

I'm a little disappointed to see that your K3 took so long to make it to the NVC. In my world, when you receive a notice that your file shipped out, then the file should be shipped and the NVC should receive it in 2 days via DHL. Add another few days to scan it in. But then again, thats my world LOL LOL LOL LOL

Yesterday I spoke to an NVC rep. He said the cases are sent in batches ( which I already knew) and it is up the the service center how often they send the batches. It could be weekly, bi-weekly or even less frequently.. He told me they are shipped DHL (but you'd think it was horse and buggy since it takes so dang long.) He told me if the K-3 gets to the NVC FIRST, then it will be forwarded to the embassy but if the I-130 gets there first they will close the K-3 . Obviously that is not completely true since your case still made it to the embassy. I can only HOPE all goes the way I want. I sent a message to the embassy in San Jose Costa Rica just to feel them out and see if they would respond. I only asked a few questions... To my surprise, it only took them a day to get back to me. I am glad to see they are on the ball. ! !

Let us know what you find out.

Filled out DS-261 on the March 20th and paid AOS on March 21st-still in process. It's been showing "Pending" in my account for 2 days now. I will just wait some more. Thanks for your help.

And most definetly if it wasn't for VJ I'd be a basket case and probably bald LOL.

And congrats on your case complete. I hope mine goes as quickly. Our two year anniversary is May 19th. Was hoping to spend it with him.

Although it would suck to be apart on your anniversary, if you do POE after your two year wedding anniversary, you'll get the IR-1 visa instead of the CR-1 visa. The HUGE benefit of IR-1 is that you won't have to file for ROC in 2 years, thus skipping about $600 in fees and a headache of evidence.

Hi there,

Can we please be added to the NVC March spreadsheet. Our NOA2 was approved on the 21st March. Our PD Date was 20th September. Our file was transferred to Texas on February 26th. Thank you and please let me know if there is anymore information that you need.

How do we get our Timeline to show up under our topic when we write something. I have been looking for this for some time but cannot find it.

Thank you.

Added!

I know that a police clearance certificate has to be sumbmitted for the NVC stage but will the embassy request a second one from me before the interview? :sleepy:

If it's expired by the interview, yes, they can ask for a new one.

Hi! Is mixing typing and printing on the Form I-864 okay? I had to add by hand some information I forgot and wonder if we will get a checklist...

That's fine. Just print clearly.

My husband has not been able to print the transcripts,it won't let him create an account, can he send his w2and tax documents?

Why not request them by mail then?

Otherwise, yes, you can send in the entire tax package sent to the IRS (1040, W2s, 1099s, schedules, worksheets, etc).

I have a question : Do NVC email the Interview letter to both the emails provided to them Or do they send it thru regular mail?

Please advice. Ty

I called the NVC this morning asking for more information on the birth certificate checklist. The lady on the phone was rather unhelpful. We KNOW it is the long form as it contains my wife's parent's names. The short form does not for QC residents. I guess we'll just resubmit what we originally sent and see what they respond back with.

8/31/2012 Married in NE

2/20/2013 I-130 NOA1 via text and email with an MSC receipt number
10/16/2013 I-130 NOA2 via text and email...APPROVED at MSC!!!
10/22/2013 I-130 NOA2 hard copy received in the mail
11/7/2013 NVC sent emails with case number.
11/7/2013 Received DS-3032 / I-864 Bill
11/11/2013 Paid I-184 Bill
11/18/2013 Paid IV Application Processing Fees
03/03/2014 DS-260 was submitted online
03/03/2014 Submitted supporting documentation for I-864 and DS-260 (IV Package and AOS supporting documentation)
03/19/2014 Received receipt e-mails stating the documents for both I-864 and DS-260 had been attached to the case. Stated to wait up to 20 business days for processing
03/26/2014 Received a checklist regarding the birth certificate. This was previously provided in an email. Investigating what was wrong with the birth certificate.
03/26/2014 Called the NVC and was told this was likely because we accidentally submitted a "short form" birth certificate rather than a "long form", but we knew that wasn't the case.
03/26/2014 Wife called back to NVC and they told her that it was because the form was "too decorative". The lady on the phone told her to wait 25 days as she'll forward it to a supervisor.
04/04/2014 Email received with a CASE COMPLETE notification and P4 interview letter.
05/21/2014 Scheduled Interview Date.
5/21/2014 VISA APPROVED!!!!

07/04/2014 Sent renewed passport to Montreal consulate for visa placement due to old passport expiring.
07/18/2014 Visa status set to "Issued" on CEAC website.
09/29/2014 Entry to the United States.

09/12/2016 I-751 Filed to California Service Center

It may be because it was all in French. When I ordered my Quebec birth certificate online, I got it in English. Had no problems at NVC or the consulate.
