Also, a question for any Japanese filers:

They asked for the koseki shohon. Since that means the "family register" and not the large marriage certificate we received, I was wondering why they asked for that? My husband had to go to the ward office and they refused to give it to him at first saying there must be some mistake and the USCIS was actually requesting the koseki tohon. It was really confusing and frustrating.

I translated the document myself, which I hope will not be a problem...after all this waiting I felt I could do it on my own and it would be a waste of time to have a company do it for us...I hope this wasn't a mistake. If you are truly married there should be no denial, right? After all this time though I feel like anything could happen, and it is making me nervous. If anyone has some knowledge on the subject, it would be greatly appreciated here!

Thanks!

Yes, there is a mistake. They are requesting your husband's koseki touhon. That one is a transcript of his family records. The shouhon is only an excerpt and often omits anything that has to do with former spouses such as divorces, annulments, and deaths. USCIS definitely wants to know about that kind of stuff. You need to get the koseki touhon from your city hall or ward office.

I'm sorry I can't help more with the RFE stuff.

guys (Philippine applicants) did you do his request from NSO about CDLI????

Applicants should request certificates that are issued with a "CDLI endorsement" (Court Documents and Legal Instruments). This endorsement shows any amendments to the original document from marriages, annulments, name changes etc. Unless a CDLI copy is requested, the requester will receive the unamended or original copy of the document.guys form the Philippines did you do this request for your birth and marriage certificate, etc.

All I did was requested both birth and marriage certificate at the NSO. They need NSO certified documents. But I guess if you need to show proof you should include it. Edited by origamicrane17

Hi Saylin! I need your help on our AOS checklist. I found out my husband didn't submit the transcript just the W-2 of 2012, 2011, 2010. But in our checklist they didn't mention directly that we have to submit it but just to complete part 3 and 5, am I right? I am confused actually coz my husband told me we don't need it. He said they didn't ask for it. So he said he will just send the same package with the filled up form I-864EZ. In the form, put N/A in part 3 and do the correction on part 5, which is just a couple of cents difference. What do you think Saylin? I would love to hear your opinion regarding this matter. Thank you! Btw, kindly see the message below from NVC.

F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________ A review of the I-864, I-864EZ, I-864W or I-864A (if applicable) Affidavit of Support form and supporting documents that you submitted has revealed that you have provided incomplete information in your response or you have not responded to some questions.

Please pay specific attention to the questions marked in the attached I-864/A checklist. You will need to complete and submit a new form with the changes noted on the attached checklist.

You will need to follow the instructions for the Affidavit of Support (I-864) that are posted on the Department of State website at the following address: www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov. From there, you can fill out a new form online, print the new completed form and mail it to NVC. If you are the Petitioner, please read all instructions and complete the correct form to submit to NVC. An Affidavit of Support form is required to be submitted from the Petitioner on each case regardless of his/her income level.

NVC will hold this case until you send us these needed items. When you return the documents to NVC, please make sure that the documents submitted are in the correct order and stapled together, as stated in the I-864 Important Notice instructions.

When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the address provided.

NVC has reviewed the financial evidence submitted. However, additional information is required to complete the financial evidence review. Please provide all requested documents and refer to page two for mailing instructions.

General Instructions

[x] You will need to complete and submit the new form, completely filled out (all pages required), which includes the changes noted below. Submitting single pages of the form with the correction is not acceptable. In order to make corrections you will need to download a new form at www.ImmigrantVisas.state.gov. P

Part 3 Information on the Sponsor [x]This section is incomplete, please answer all questions completely. (If a question is not applicable, please indicate N/A in the appropriate space.)

Part 5 Sponsor's Income and Employment [x]____D*****_______________________________ 's income indicated on the I-864EZ Part 19 does not correspond to that shown on the most recent tax return and W-2(s).

Just got off the phone with nvc and they said 8 weeks for a case #. I texted my lawyer and she's going to put in a request. I'm not sure if that does anything?

Just looking over the slides for the ds-260. Where it says "will your child be immigrating with you", what do you put if your child is a dual US/Canadian citizen? Because if you answer no it asks where they will reside and such

If you child is a citizen, they are not going to need to undergo any immigration proceedings so you mark no to this question.

In my DS-260, the next question is then "Is this child immigrating to the U.S. at a later date to join you?"

For this, you also answer no for the same reason you answered no to the first.

They are going to come with you, but they aren't immigrating according to the National Visa Center.

Thanks for this. I am in the same situation. My son is already US Citizen and has SSN. :)
