So annoyed, NVC received AOS on the 19th Feb and my daughters in the same envelope. They lost my daughters and I have to send it again. Sorry but they are idiots. So fed up with this whole thing

If you have 2 cases that have the same AOS, why can't they use the supporting evidence from the other case? I sent just one set with two cover sheets/applications for both parents in the same envelope and was told that this was acceptable.

I'd recommend it, yes. Read the medical section on the wiki.

It might be okay with minor surgeries, but I'd still see if there's some way you can get it. Or, call up the panel physician and see what they say.

OK - now I'm freaking out a little. My partner is nearly 60 years old. To take all her "medical records" with her to the panel physician would probably be over 200 pages. I thought the US was interested in whether she had any communicable diseases. Why would she have to present records that show she was one of the first IVF patients in Australia (unsuccessful, by the way) or that she had her appendix out as a child, or that she had a bone spur on her left shoulder?

That just feels very invasive to me, and she is very sensitive about the IVF stuff (it was very physically invasive and painful, and emotionally draining).

I had prepared her to take her vaccination records, and her titers for immunities.

I did not have to present medical records when I got my Australian residency visa - just fill out forms, get a chest x-ray, and present my immunization card. What is REALLY needed (for an Australian citizen)?????

You would think so wouldnt you?? But I think I will send it all again( for my daughter) as I dont think they are intelligent enough to be able to match up the new one with my one which is already there.. so angry this is going to delay us more. It is the most inefficient system I have ever come across.

Actually, now that I look at the checklist, it just says they haven't received AOS form, I wonder should I just send the form or all the info again?

Alright folks, I'm probably going to be away for awhile. I'm moving to another city/state tomorrow, and it's time I pack my computer up XD I still have my laptop, but once I get off work tonight, I'm probably not going to stay up much longer as it'll be an early morning moving. And no internet will be in our new apartment until Monday, soooo I'll try to get on when I can in a public spot

What!!! Just got an email from NVC. AOS bill ready to pay and fill in DS 261. Was told yesterday this will take 2 weeks, just got IIN yesterday too! LoveMyTico, what do you think? Confused.com.

How long is it taking people to see name updates at NVC?

I updated my wife's last name after the I-130 and the USCIS updated it shortly before we got NOA2, but the NVC documents seem to be all under her old name.

On the DS-261 I wrote the correct last name, and I emailed them at the beginning of this week reminding them of a name change and change of address for her, but heard nothing.

The AOS cover sheet I am about to send in has her old last name on it...

QUESTION

On the I-864 on the first page, questions 2-5, is that for the sponsor or beneficiary? I can't find it on the instructions and the example I864 is confusing. It gives a mailing address in the USA and then country of citizenship as Australia.

I suggest an I-864.

The only time I suggest using an I-864A is if they're a spouse of the main joint sponsor. For an example, the petitioner's father is the main joint sponsor (I-864) and his wife, the petitioner's mother, wants to contribute as well, so she would file an I-864A.

Our joint-sponsor filed jointly with his wife for his taxes and had enough revenue for his household size. Does the wife need to file an I-864A, even though she did not have any revenue, to avoid any possible checklist?

Yes, it is ok if you meet the three criteria. My husband filed the I-864EZ using Total Income since his IRS Form was 1040. You need to use the Adjusted Gross Income only when your IRS Form is the 1040EZ. That's what the instructions states

For my tax returns I filed 1040 for three years including 2013. Can I not use I-864EZ or only 1040EZ can file I-864EZ?

Also for the purpose of stating income for past three years, I a going to use AGI or gross income for I-864EZ? It seems like from what you are saying that only if I had filed 1040EZ, I need to state AGI on I-864EZ. Since in my case I filed 1040 I need to use gross income. Is that right?

i was just thinking if i could put 1 copy of 2011-2013 tax returns of primary and joint sponsor for 3 cases. and just put a note there that the supporting docs for i864w are attached to i864.

now reading this, makes me think thrice....how can they lose such things????

1. You are the person who filed or is filing the Form I-130, Petition for Alien Relative, for a relative being sponsored;

2. The relative you are sponsoring is the only person listed on the Form I-130 petition;

3. The income you are using to qualify is based entirely on your salary or pension and is shown on one or more Forms W-2 provided by your employer(s) or former employer(s).

If you meet the above criteria, then yes, you can file the I-864EZ with your 1040 IRS Form. That's exactly what my husband did, he filed 1040 in 2013, 2012 and 2011 (your case). We used Total Income (this applies to you). The Adjusted Gross Income is just for people using 1040EZ (not your case).

I have to say.. I am surprised they were shipped so soon. It has to be the fastest action so far !!
