Checking in smile.pngNVC received case on March 17th.

We called the first time a week after NOA2 and the rep told us to call again in 8 weeks. We called again a week later, found out case was received and the (possibly rather optimistic) rep told us to call again in two weeks for case #.

Hi Ellinora, NVC got my case on 03/19. Yesterday, they told me call back in next week. i hope they will have it ready by next week. Lemme know when you have your case #

Did I miss some very important information somewhere Saylin? Do we have to bring ALL our medical records to the medical? I too have had a couple minor surgeries.

I'd recommend it, yes. Read the medical section on the wiki.

Question guys. If i am using my wifes mother as a sponsor for the AOS, do i even need my wives taxes for 2013 ready for the NVC stage?

Yes. Whether the petitioner is qualifying on their own or not, tax information is still needed.

Thanks for the swift response. That sucks. I doubt if i can get the medical record for the first surgery as it was done long back. Unless it was a major surgery they shouldnt ask for medical records i feel.

It might be okay with minor surgeries, but I'd still see if there's some way you can get it. Or, call up the panel physician and see what they say.

Thank you so much for replying.

But here's the problem, I understand everything you explained however its still giving me the error and since it might be easier to understand the problem with a screenshot I have attached them to give you a little bit of an idea. I have been living at my present address since I was three years old (Jan 1992) but I left for my college education from Nov 2006 to March 2012 so those dates are confirmed. I don't understand where exactly there is a gap of more than a month.

Well, you've got an overlap. Your present address shouldn't be from Sept 2004, it should be from Mar 2012. Then, after the college one, you'll need to include your old address (which is also your current address) as Sept 2004 to Nov 2006. So, visually:

Present: Mar 2012

Previous: Nov 2006 to Mar 2012

Previous: Sept 2004 to Nov 2006

What an amazing feeling!

IV Package sent 3/20 (arrived today as well :-)

DS-260 completed 3/21

Now the wait for the case review and complete!

Saylin, can you please update the spreadsheet

Updated.

Alright folks, I'm probably going to be away for awhile. I'm moving to another city/state tomorrow, and it's time I pack my computer up XD I still have my laptop, but once I get off work tonight, I'm probably not going to stay up much longer as it'll be an early morning moving. And no internet will be in our new apartment until Monday, soooo I'll try to get on when I can in a public spot :P

Hi,

Our joint-sponsor filed jointly with his wife for taxes. She does not have any revenue, does she still have to file a 864A? If so, do we need to send a copy of her passport?

Thanks

He is a US citizen, lived in the UK, now moved back to the US. I am French, we met in 2010 in the UK and got married in March 2013 in France.

Good luck with the move! You are probably the kindest most helpful person on the internet! Even when you have this huge life change, you are still going to check in on us NVC filers. Amazing.

Yes, it is ok if you meet the three criteria. My husband filed the I-864EZ using Total Income since his IRS Form was 1040. You need to use the Adjusted Gross Income only when your IRS Form is the 1040EZ. That's what the instructions states smile.png
