NVC Filers - March 2014

For those who have successfully submitted the I-864, would you recommend writing in N/A or none in all blank text fields? Some of the fields do not allow a / so I plan to write them in.

I put NA in all the blank fields including the ones I wrote in after I printed it. My I-864 was accepted no problem.

In my work I have to review gov. forms and I know they can be pretty intense - so I tend to go overboard in making sure every single line is filled out on a form. haha. better safe in my opinion

We finally got confirmation that our case was received at NVC on March 18th, now just waiting for the all important case number

To pay the AOS, I copied the information exactly on my check and now I just looked back at the routing/account numbers I used to get reimbursed for my 2012 taxes- while the routing number is the same, the account number is missing one digit that I included in the AOS payment because it was on the check. The last time we paid AOS and got rejected, we had used the full number with the last digit, and when I successfully got my IRS refund, the account number was the one missing a digit...so I just paid again, made this realization, and am wondering if there is any way to cancel my last payment and pay again without the last digit (since I know that number works). Any ideas? Or do I just wait to see if I am rejected in 2-3 days again and make the change if needed?

You'll have to wait it out. No way for you to cancel (AFAIK).

Why would you say Yes to something that never happened ?

Understand the question clearly. You are NOT willfully misrepresenting anything. Its very simple. Were you denied a visa ? No. So just say No.

I would not say yes because you were officially NOT refused a visa. You did not even reach the visa stage. The petition was denied NOT the visa.

So just say No and relax.

Frustrated. I paid the AOS fee on Wednesday and it said IN PROCESS until this morning...now it says REJECTED. I don't understand why since I have more than enough money in my account. I checked and the money hasn't left my account either so it's not a system error.

I repaid today...hope it works this time. I was hoping to send my AOS packet today or tomorrow. Guess I will have to wait some more.

But then I just read this in one of the FAQS: "CAUTION: Website shows status of payment as “IN PROCESS” and it might change to “NOT PAID” do not panic or pay twice, if this happens, wait till payment status shows as PAID. Do not pay twice."

Case Complete 19th March!! After 19 months since we first submitted the petition to the USCIS the light at the end of this crazy long tunnel is getting a bit brighter!

Now waiting for the Interview to be scheduled, anyone know if the Sydney Consulate is backed up for interview times?

The G-1145 is only to tell you when USCIS initially receives your case. You need to create an account on their website if you want any status updates by email/text.

Call them. They've been having issues with their payment portal. They told me yesterday if I had a problem to wait a day. But I'd call them and tell them what's going on. Maybe they can shake it.

Called them yesterday and they told me it can take up to give business days and that a supervisor will look into it. Blah blah blah. I call stall tactics.

Just curious. I've seen some people from their signatures have sent in their AOS packet before they receive the confirmation email for the EP enroll. What happens when you do that. I know Saylin has mentioned in her guide to wait until you get confirmation by in the DOS website it doesn't mention that you have to wait. Also everyone on here has said to put N/A or NONE on the I-864 when in the instructions for that form it says to leave blank spaces on questions that don't pertain to your case. Just wondering.
