Frustrated. I paid the AOS fee on Wednesday and it said IN PROCESS until this morning...now it says REJECTED. I don't understand why since I have more than enough money in my account. I checked and the money hasn't left my account either so it's not a system error.

I repaid today...hope it works this time. I was hoping to send my AOS packet today or tomorrow. Guess I will have to wait some more.

I am the petitioner (USC). My husband is Senegalese.

6/10/2013: NOA1

1/21/2014: NOA2 (TSC)

2/6/2014: Received at NVC

3/13/2014: Case Number, IIN, BIN received by phone. Emails handed over.

3/17/2014: Submitted DS-261

3/18/2014: Received emails- AOS invoice and Case Number, IIN, BIN

3/19/2014: AOS available and paid (IN PROCESS)

3/19/2014: My part of AOS sent to joint sponsor from Senegal, awaiting PAID confirmation before joint sponsor sends to NVC

3/21/2014: AOS payment REJECTED. Paid again, payment IN PROCESS. Joint sponsor received AOS package in US

3/24/2014: AOS Payment went through account. Still in process at NVC.

3/25/2014: AOS PAID. IV Yellow Triangle in the morning. IV email and payment invoiced in the afternoon. IV payment IN PROCESS.

3/26/2014: IV payment taken out of bank account, still in process at NVC. IV packet sent via DHL from Senegal.

3/27/2014: IV shows PAID. DS-260 Submitted. AOS sent to NVC from Oregon.

3/28/2014: AOS and IV delivered (both signed by G.Peters)

4/14/2014: Fake checklist for AOS. IV assumed accepted (will call to verify)

I would definitely answer yes and give a short explanation, such as the one above.

But the question says visa and since USCIS only deals with petitions, I'm not sure what to do.

btw, if I answer yes to the question, do I need to attach any supporting documentation or will the short explanation suffice?

Hi Saylin. We just had our lawyer tell us she eventually got through on the phone- we “have to wait 20-30 “business” days from February 21st, for the case to be entered into the system”

So can you put NVC received Feb 21 for us on the spreadsheet! Thanks!

Although the petition never got to the visa stage, they might still consider that being "refused a visa". It'd be better to include it and find out it doesn't count than not mentioning it and it actually counting.

And no documentation needed (although I suggest bringing it to the interview, just in case). I was denied twice at a border, so answered yes to that question, and didn't provide anything. Brought documentation to the interview, but was never asked for it. I wasn't even asked about the two denials rolleyes.gif

Salaam buddy,

I would not say yes because you were officially NOT refused a visa. You did not even reach the visa stage. The petition was denied NOT the visa.

So just say No and relax.

Call them. They've been having issues with their payment portal. They told me yesterday if I had a problem to wait a day. But I'd call them and tell them what's going on. Maybe they can shake it. :P

12/16/13 : Shipped to NVC

01/08/14 : NVC recieved the case

02/06/14 : Case number assigned and IIN/BIN

02/11/14 : DS-261 Available and completed

02/12/14 : Received e-mail to pay AOS Fee

02/13/14 : AOS bill invoice available and paid

02/15/14 : AOS Mailed

02/18/14 : AOS status shows paid

02/19/14 : NVC received AOS package

02/28/14 : Received e-mail to pay IV Fee

02/28/14 : IV bill invoiced

03/03/14 : IV bill available and paid
