Good to know!

Folks, if you want to be added to the spreadsheet, it'd be great if you made things easier for me and just gave me the data I needed (especially when you don't have signatures). Actually look at the spreadsheet (seems like some of you even haven't done that...) and the different columns. Don't give me dates I don't need (for the spreadsheet, I could care less when your NOA1 was). All I need is the following:

Service Center (which your I-130 was approved from)

NOA2 date

Date NVC received your case

Date case number was assigned

Date AOS package was sent out

Date IV package was sent out

Date DS-260 was completed

And before you request, make sure your timeline is filled out. I am no longer adding anyone to the spreadsheet that doesn't have a timeline filled out. And please keep it up to date (and matching with dates you give/that are in your signature). I'm doing this now as the data from your timeline is used in some of the functions of this website. And although I'd love to require signatures as well (since they're so much better than timelines when looking at time ticks as timelines don't have everything), data isn't pulled from them by the website.

We could do like they did with the transfer spreadsheets, and make a form that collects that info for you, and it gets sent to your inbox. :)

Lucybelle,

I brought our dog over from the Netherlands last December (1 yr old Jack Russell) and it went fine. When you board the plane just ask the crew if they can double check if your dog in on board. They happily do that. I didn't have a lay over but was told that if you have a lay over for more then 3 hours, most airlines will let you dog out to relieve itself. And the airline (Delta) would not allow our dog on board if it had taken any tranquilizer so check the airline.

My dog is fell just within the rules to be able to bring her in the cabin. We actually chose flying United because she could fly in the cabin with us. (She has severe anxiety issues, especially separation anxiety. We didn't want to spent 8 hours on a plane listening to her hysterical howls. And she would have. The entire time. :P

Good to know!

Hey, Saylin! Completely a different question:

I see a lot of people's signatures have "DS261 accepted", what does it mean? My original understanding was after the form being reviewed and approved (so to speak), but today we called NVC to ask for status on our DS261 and we were told it is in their system. This is not the same as acceptance right?

1. Copies are fine. For the AOS package, the only things that need to be original are the I-864 form and employment letter (and cover letter if you send one). Tax information and pay stubs can be copies.

2. Sadly, the timeline doesn't have everything (hence the reason for my post before). When was your case number assigned? Was your I-130 approved from NBC or was it transferred at some point and approved elsewhere? And your timeline says you're going through Armenia, which I'm thinking is not true, due to the country on your profile saying Nigeria.

Well, first I'd suggest you figure out if you indeed switched them or not. Look at the printed review (which I'm hoping you did...). If you indeed made a mistake, call up NVC and see if they can do anything. If not, just mention it at the interview.

Well, I'd suggest calling back up and asking the operator specifically: "Is my DS-261 accepted?"

We definitely don't care about the work permit.. and we don't care about the cost of adjusting. K3 is the same as a K1 except you are already married. It was designed to speed up the process ( even though the process has changed over the years) Why would they say NO for a K-3? and not for the I-130? We have a waiver to file so we would prefer to bypass this NVC BS. If we go for an interview for K-3 or I-130 we will get the same result , we still need to submit the waiver before he can come home. So for us, the K-3 makes sense. If we didn't need the waiver, I'd go for the I-130 because the interview is the end of the road.

Waiver?? What do you mean by that?

Our Journey:

USCIS:

07-24-2013: PD I-130

08-20-2013: PD I-129

01-03-2014 Transfer to TSC

02-01-2014 NOA2 both petitions

02-05-2014 I-129 sent to NVC

02-14-2014 I-130 sent to NVC

NVC:

02-18-2014 I-129 received, Case number & IIN available

02-20-2014 I-129 sent to consulate

02-25-2014 I-130 received by NVC

02-26-2014 Received letter with instructions from US consulate to follow up with for the K3 visa

03-28-2014 Case number and INN received

03-31-2014 Received email that invoices are ready to be paid

03-31-2014 Invoices paid by bank

04-02-2014 Invoices show PAID

04-03-2014 DS-260 filed by Lawyer

04-04-2014 AOS and IV package sent by Lawyer to NVC

04-25-2014 Checklist AOS and Birth Certificate - Lawyer clueless - sigh

04-30-2014 New birth certificates with apostilles

05-01-2014 Sent package to Lawyer with updated docs

05-05-2014 Lawyer sent out new package to NVC

05-06-2014 NVC received updated package

05-07-2014 NVC logged package in their system

06-02-2014 Case Complete - Waiting for email and interview date :clock: :clock: :clock:

It's not the same. It's simply in their system now waiting review and acceptance. When it gets accepted or it's above to be accepted you'll see the yellow triangle on CEAC. After that you'll get a confirmation email for selection of agent and IV bill. Few hours after that the invoice will actually become payable.

Chceck out my signature, I have described all of the steps that were seen. It's consistent with what others have seen as well.

My case was expedited at USCIS,when it arrived at NVC,we asked for another expedite but the agent told us that we need to wait for a case number to expedite and that's what we did.

Wow...our case was expedited thru USCIS too. And before we got our case numbers, we were really worried cause we are on a tight time frame so we asked and explained our need to expedite our case, and we were told we could do it now, without case number and any of that stuff. But because of China's "special" customs rules, we decided to go thru EP cause the consulate will decide if they want me to file with paper or electronically, and we can't take that chance, so we decided (also on Darnell's advise) to wait for EP, so we didn't expedite it thru NVC.

YOU....are a saint, Saylin heart.gif

I will call NVC as soon as I get off work. If they say they cannot do anything, I will tell my mom to mention it at the interview. It wont have any impact on the processing, right ? cray5ol.gif I feel so dumb rightnow.
