I had to get a health certificate for my dog, and she had to get her vaccinations. I brought her with me on the plane, and we had no problem getting through customs with her.

It would likely be faster to move an elephant to the US compared to a human! I love that everyone is bringing their pets. When I moved to the US, I brought my Border collie with me. There is no way that I could leave her behind. She was only 7 months and it was harder on me than it was on her. We had to go Dublin to Chicago and on to Dallas/Fort Worth. They lost her in Chicago! I should have claimed her as over-sized baggage and checked her in for the DFW flight but they couldn't find her. Finally after me totally flipping out, they found her in cargo but that poor dog was crated for 21 hours total and I didn't get to see her until I landed in DFW. I remember getting her out in DFW and laying newspapers on the floor of the airport and she squatted and peed and peed and peed some more. She was so relieved, poor baby!

Talk to NoelAnne.. Her K-3 is being processed as we speak so don't jump the gun on spreading the " administratively closed" fable ! The backlog is so bad at the NVC, Some K-3s are squeaking by.. So that is what I am hoping for. I know the K-3 process well. I waited too long for my NOA2 .. If I can avoid all this NVC nonsense.... That is what I am gong to do. I don't care about the additional $1000 dollars. If I have to do the I-130 then so be it. I will be calling for my K-3 case number and following it to the embassy.

Does the TSC send out a notice that your case is sent to the NVC? Yesterday I received 3 responses to all the service requests I sent over the last few weeks. One response stated that it was responding to 3 inquires all at once ( LOL) anyway, the response form TSC said my case is not with them anymore, that is was sent to the NVC and gave me all the contact information in the response. SO, is there an officially shipped notice? Will I get a text? Just wondering

NoelAnne's care is a rare instance.

Im sure there's some case consideration (their age(s) I believe) that went into granting her K-3.

TSC to NVC takes over two weeks.

I think you should get an email notification after shipping.

CSC is the only one that doesnt send out anything.

In Deep's (deep35472) case, USCIS administratively closed their i-129 even before the i-130 was approved.

Good luck to you though !

Pls add me. Thanks Saylin.

Added.

hi saylin i have spoke with my attorney's paralegal and she informed me that case number was given on 3/5/14 instead of 3/17/14 that i told you to be added on the spreadsheet. just kindly update if needed. thanks smile.png

Updated (although I had 3/12, not 3/17 down previously).

For the NVC process, does anyone know what documents need to be certified and if I need to order an original copy of my husbands birth certificate (he is the beneficiary)? They are $60 so I don't want to order one unless it is necessary.

I am waiting for my NVC packet to come in the mail. I already have all of my documents ready to go, are there any forms that I can pre-populate or do I have to wait for the instructions in the mail?

When should I start calling for a case number. My NOA2 date is March 14th.

Thank you!!

The birth and marriage certificate either has to be original or certified.

I suggest you read the wiki I wrote on the NVC process. It's linked in my signature below.

Somebody help me!!!!!!!!!

Ok so I've paid the AOS fee and am waiting for it to be displayed as 'Paid' in the portal, meanwhile I wanted to prepare for my Immigrant visa packet and wondered if I should fill in DS-230 or do the online DS-260.

The AOS fee receipt I got says that only the case numbers beginning with AMM, ATH, BGH, LMA, MEP, or MTL are eligible for filling in the DS-260 online the rest of the folks need to send it the filled DS-230 by post. Its confusing because my local consulate (Mumbai, India) website advises folks to fill DS-260 for immigrant visas and the AOS fee receipt says something different.

Guys pls advise.

Everyone, no matter what country, is required to fill out the online DS-260. If you send a DS-230, you'll get a checklist for the DS-260. Those instructions are old; NVC unfortunately hasn't updated it yet since September.

I suggest you read the wiki I wrote on the NVC process, linked in my signature below.

So just got off the phone with another operator. I guess some cases are having issues with the payment portal and that she is putting a note on our case to have a supervisor look at it. She said I'm more than welcome to send in the AOS packet by mail so they can review it.

What do I do? Do I wait for it to get straightened out and continue with electronic processing. Or do I do everything by snail mail sad.png

Well, you haven't even gotten the EP acceptance email (according to your signature), so you would be waiting regardless if this delay happened or not. I'd suggest sitting tight and wait. You can't mail things in if you're doing EP; it'll just delay things even further.

Hi Saylin,

please update me on the spreadsheet.

Submitted DS-261 on 3/20.

Thank you so much!

Do you mean the DS-260? Be careful with numbers :P

Saylin, could you please add me to the spreadsheet?

I-130 Sent : 2013-06-06 I-130 NOA1 : 2013-06-13 I-130 RFE : I-130 RFE Sent : I-130 Approved : 2014-03-10

As I'm waiting for my case number etc. I'm trying to get together my documents. One question: I do not need a police certificate for the US, even if I have lived there before, right? At least that's what I gather from my search on the forums here.

Thanks!

Added. Was your I-130 approved from NBC or was it transferred at some point and accepted elsewhere?

And yes, you're correct, no US police certificate is needed. They do their own national background checks. I was in the same situation as you ;)

Quick question for everyone here, I got my Case #/IIN#/BID# on Tuesday, at which point my fee's (AOS and IV) were available online to pay, both of with I paid on the spot.

I have never seen any request or link to fill out a DS-261 Choice of Agent form. I have already filled out G-28, "Notice of Entry of Appearance as Attorney or Accredited Representative" which I sent to USCIS when I submitted my I-130 application. When the NVC sent me my case number information, they also sent it directly to my lawyer. Does that mean I do not need to fill out a DS-261?

Please advise, thanks!

If you have a lawyer attached to your case, then they're automatically selected as agent, thus by-passing the DS-261. So, yes, that means you don't have to fill that out.

Another question:

A lot of the timelines I am seeing in the signatures show AOS Bill and IV Bill being available on different dates, why is that?

Mine were both available immediately, at the same time and I paid them right away.

Case number was assigned on 3/13/14 and then both IV Bill ($230) and AOS Bill ($88) were available to pay right away. I paid them both and see the funds withdrawn from my account...

This is NORMAL? Are these the only two fee's to pay or are there more to come?

For example from user "ys123":

03/01/14- Paid AOS fee

03/04/14- AOS fee shows PAID

03/07/14- AOS package sent from Australia

03/17/14- AOS package was delivered to NVC

03/14/14- IV bill issued by email

03/17/14- IV bill available to pay online - paid

As I explained in my last response to you, since you have a lawyer attached to your case, you by-passed the need to send a DS-261. The IV bill is only invoiced after the DS-261 is accepted and added to the case file. Hence why everyone else (who doesn't also have a lawyer) have different dates for the two bills. Since you have a lawyer, both bills are invoiced at the same time as, I mentioned before, your lawyer is automatically selected as agent.

NVC received our cases on March 18th, got the thirty day rote response about waiting for them to be entered into the system. But the cases are there and they are together, please update us on your spreadsheet when you can, Saylin! smile.png

If the expedite is approved, either they'll have you mail the IV package directly to the embassy or, the more likely option, you'll bring it to the interview.

And instead of writing all your important dates in a post, why not put it in a signature, so it shows up automatically?

Yes!!! Just paid my Mum's IV fee! The DS-260 is still not available yet though.

edit: In reading the instructions, I am seeing that I can't fill it out online and have to submit a paper version. (Note to self: always read the instructions.)

What instructions would that be, as everyone is required to fill out the DS-260 online. The DS-230 is no longer accepted.

I thought you don't always get the acceptance email

Yes, you do.

Ok, spoke to Agent Todd (who is definitely one of the best agents there.) who is contacting a Supervisor to review my DS261. Also, he said, if you have a problem with the payment portal, wait a day and try again. They're having serious technical issues with it, and have been for 3 days. They're hoping to have it resolved within the next week.
