When did USCIS send your packet to NVC?

Call NVC to ask if they have received your packet. Ours took about a month before they gave us a case number. It's been taking up to 30 business days it seems.

You can't fill up the NVC forms without a case number and IIN since you'll need to log in to CEAC to answer the forms, except for the I-864 or I-864EZ, you can do that now.

Birth certificate for the IV packet should be original according to the NVC website. I would order an original copy just in case it is asked for by NVC or the US embassy during the interview. Originals are always convenient to have on hand.

I am not sure, how do I find out when they sent our packet?

Okay thank you, I will order an original then!

K3 isn't an immigrant visa, and since you didn't have that visa I wouldn't do that. 'Other Immigrant Visa' seems to be the right fit.

Thanks, it's a bit tricky.

sorry to bust your bubble but K-3 gets administratively closed once CR1/IR1 reaches NVC.

I am pretty sure. Maybe others will not agree with me.

Talk to NoelAnne.. Her K-3 is being processed as we speak so don't jump the gun on spreading the " administratively closed" fable ! The backlog is so bad at the NVC, Some K-3s are squeaking by.. So that is what I am hoping for. I know the K-3 process well. I waited too long for my NOA2 .. If I can avoid all this NVC nonsense.... That is what I am gong to do. I don't care about the additional $1000 dollars. If I have to do the I-130 then so be it. I will be calling for my K-3 case number and following it to the embassy.

Does the TSC send out a notice that your case is sent to the NVC? Yesterday I received 3 responses to all the service requests I sent over the last few weeks. One response stated that it was responding to 3 inquires all at once ( LOL) anyway, the response form TSC said my case is not with them anymore, that is was sent to the NVC and gave me all the contact information in the response. SO, is there an officially shipped notice? Will I get a text? Just wondering

Hey, from your timeline it looks like NVC received your case then you got the NOA2? What was your PD and when did the NVC get your case, I ask as we have a similar timeframe and i may start checking to see if they have my case # yet :)

Hey there! We also have a K3 which is already at the consulate. In fact the consulate is already waiting for my response for more than three weeks as we are still in the process of receiving a case number for the I-130. Our lawyers advised us strongly not to pursue the K3 visa as it's a another risk (for the AOS the government has more rights and data at hands to tell you "no" and the appeal process is very shady) and more money, while the whole process is soo close. Plus you have to wait at least three months on your work permit.

We decided to wait, but we have no idea if it's the right decision :)

Yes, the TSC will send a notice once they send it out. The bad news is that they can be kind of slow sending it out after approval. In my case, it was 3 weeks.

07/29/2014 - NOA1

11/19/2014 - Transfer to TSC

12/19/2014 - NOA2

01/15/2014 - NVC Received (TSC held it for 3 weeks...)

02/19/2014 - Case no. and IIN assigned; requested embassy change

02/27/2014 - DS-261 available and submitted

02/28/2014 - AOS available and paid

03/19/2014 - AOS mailed

03/27/2014 - AOS entered into system

03/24/2014 - New case no. assigned

03/25/2014 - IV fee invoiced and paid

03/28/2014 - IV package sent via FedEx

04/26/2014 - case complete

06/01/2014 - passed interview

HEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY HAPPY TO BE HERE !!!! LONG OVERDUE !! ! ! THANKS

We received e-mail from TSC when our case was shipped to NVC, and also we received e-mail when NVC receive it. It took around a month.

Our K3 is sent to Embassy in Skopje, but they still didn't call me. In mean time we received mail with Case number and IIN, so we also started with CR-1.

We just going as things are happening.

Hope this info is useful to you and congrats on your approval. We also waited long, almost 11 months. :)

Good luck!

Somebody help me!!!!!!!!!

Ok so I've paid the AOS fee and am waiting for it to be displayed as 'Paid' in the portal, meanwhile I wanted to prepare for my Immigrant visa packet and wondered if I should fill in DS-230 or do the online DS-260.

The AOS fee receipt I got says that only the case numbers beginning with AMM, ATH, BGH, LMA, MEP, or MTL are eligible for filling in the DS-260 online the rest of the folks need to send it the filled DS-230 by post. Its confusing because my local consulate (Mumbai, India) website advises folks to fill DS-260 for immigrant visas and the AOS fee receipt says something different.

Guys pls advise.

Anyone else hear this ridiculousness. Just got off the phone with an extremely rude NVC operator asking why my AOS fee still says in process and he claims you absolutely have to use internet explorer if not it will never process and if the money was pulled out of the account you have to send a copy of your bank statement to the nvcinquiry email showing that it was pulled out.

I'm i the only one this happened to?
