We did ours with the 'NRA' option. I could not find a way to electronically file it. We had to file the hardcopy, via USPS. This will take longer.

Also, if you file as MFJ, you both have to sign the return. If you have power of attorney for your spouse, you can sign for both. My option was to email a pdf version to my husband. He printed and signed it, included it with other original papers we need for the NVC.

When you submit it to the IRS, use USPS Priority mailing option and get the Certified green, return card option as well (should cost about $11.60 per mailing; federal and state tax offices). Then, make an account on the IRS.gov site and you can track the progress of when they receive the federal tax and when it is processed. There are also apps for the iPhone, for the tracking. If you have the time, you can do it this way.

I Hope it happens really soon! Has NVC told you when they "received the DS-261"? It's pretty sad, but an online form submitted on the 3rd for me was not in their system until the 6th. Was yours "received" on the 6th as well?

I put my tax return on hold until I do not find correct answer for it.

But I was thinking to put NRA in stead of Applied for.

My DS-261 submitted on the 3rd was in their system as of the 5th. Hoping your invoice is available soon! Have you received the email yet?

i received this checklist . i have sent all the documents last week, but i just received the following check list. is it a false check list. Please help i am little worried,

The NVC has received the requested Immigrant Visa Application (DS-230). However, we are still

waiting for the response to the checklist letter for the Affidavit of Support (Form I-864). Please return

the requested information so that we may complete the processing of your case.

When responding to the National Visa Center, please include the bar code sheet that came with this

letter. Failure to include the bar code sheet may cause a delay in the processing of your case. The bar

code sheet should be placed on top of all documents being submitted for this case and mailed to the

address provided.

I just got of the phone and the person said my case was completed yesterday!!!

I couldn't believe this.... my predictions were wrong..... I'm very happy chap now....

I got the yellow triangle for the IV Bill! Yay. Now I am just wondering what will happen when they get my 4 emails all containing AOS packets....that should be interesting. I'm such a trouble maker. Also I learned my lesson about slowing down to read the directions as my first two packets had JPEG's and you are only allowed to send PDF's...whoops
