Also, is it worth calling them to find out if our case is complete if the CEAC still says "at nvc". Does anyone know if this information is the most up to date or would a phone rep perhaps be able to tell us if our case was complete before the CEAC does?

Cheers

AOS question

I am filling an IR-5 for my dad the case is now being transferred to the NVC. I don't work and my husband is currently working overseas and I don't want him to quit his job and come back to the US in order to meet the domicile requirements of joint sponsors. Instead I was looking at the i-864 instructions page and it states that if the petitioner and/or applicant do not make sufficent income to meet 125% of the poverty guidelines that assets from the petitioner and applicant can be used instead ( 5x the 125% of the poverty guidelines of our household size) ....

My father has cash assets that exceed 5x the 125% of the poverty guidlines of our household size. currently his bank account is overseas but he can get a bank statement if need be.

will i be able to make this work by submitting an I-864, will i need to submit any other form besides that?

in this case how will i enter part 6 on the I864 since my husband and I filled jointly on our taxes but he will not be a joint sponsor on the I-864?

re-reading my post i gotta say this one is a dooooooooozy :)

If you want the latest status, yes please call them. The CEAC website status is unreliable.

hi VJers smile.png and Saylin

first of all, sorry for your lost Ms. Saylin.

I just wanna asked since I saw this member posting something about the IV packet required documents. he said that a if applicable: a divorce decree should be included in it? so should we include my husband's ( the petitioner) divorce decree? I just thought IV packet is all about the beneficiary.

Only beneficiary's divorce decree ( if it applies )

Nothing related to petitioner.

My case status never updated online beyond "approved," all the information I got beyond that point was from calling. Technically my NOA2 was a transfer notice telling me my approved case was being sent to NVC, but obviously they didn't send it out the door that day, so I was never notified of when it was actually sent. I wasn't planning on following up with USCIS to ask about ship date unless NVC didn't receive my case within a couple of weeks.

anyone here who filed DS-261 Feb.18 and still don't have there IV invoiced???cray5ol.gif

I filled on 19th. they told to wait for 10 business days.

I filled out the DS261 on Feb 11th - and was invoiced for I-864 on the 13th. I finally got the email that I was invoiced for the IV bill on Friday Feb 28th for the IV - It shows it in the system but it still wont let me pay it in the system. Very frustrating!
